If you ever need proof that two thirds of tone is to do with the player: Dime picks up a guitar he never plays, plugs into someone else's amp, and it instantly sounds like his sound.
@johnwirk
@johnwirk 4 жыл бұрын
If those are signature duncan pickups then they are pretty good. But I do agree, the player is obviously what makes the noise. Guitars certainly dont play them selves. I will say though that Dime was exceptional. Ive played for 15 yrs and am ok as far as improvising goes but my hands cant move like his nor do I know where to go all the time. The guitar became and extension of himself and not every player reaches that level nor could they, especially in the time frame that he did.

His energy , humbleness, then add his musicianship. I miss his work that would've been, what he would create. Loved that he developed and absolute style/tone that was new to the ears and ripped your face off but was so soothingly aggressive to the soul. Yea Dime was a tough one to lose. Rip dime and Vince . Thx for the your musical therapy

I find myself binge watching videos like this lately. The Abbot brothers were a force of nature, a gift to humanity. Like alot of people say, I never met them but feel like they were close friends. Just down to earth guys that loved what they did and kicked ass at it. God I wish I could have met them just once so I could give them a heartfelt thanks.

Damn. Feels sad to have missed such a legend in his prime. So kind and happy. Just smiling. Like incredible attitude. Something you dont always see and when you do its addicting. He isnt being anyone else but himself. He isnt looking for anyones approval. Hes committed to music with nothing but love. Its so great.
