In this episode, we will address a question regarding his first purchase with his wife.
As they are about to get married, they are wondering should they invest in a home straight away? Or get one in the city where it's more convenient for the time being?
My suggestion would be to get that apartment which is convenient, with the investment mindset. Then 3 years later, when they are planning to extend the family only get that dream house away from the city. This is when the career path is more stable, and financial status is much healthy.
I'm even pushing it to rent that dream home. But this is rather unacceptable for many people as it's still more sensible to own the house compared to renting.

I concur with what u said. Im living with my parents in law in pursuit of caring for them since they are in their 80s but at the same time, we long to live on our own. (living with parents when you have your own family aint easy!) So we can forsee that the cycle will repeat when the time WE get old. Our kids will get married, and they will want to move out. By then our house will be feeling empty too. But i guess if makcik2 hear this nephew is going to rent instead of buying a house to "settle down", sure kena bebel one... 😆 not many can agree with renting especially when one can afford to buy. Sorry panjang pulak cerita. Got excited that I found someone who shares the same idea as me.

"the landed house rental covered by your investment property..." that is a very good target as renting out a terrace house is always a loss...

Another great video will good advice. Always look for properties with some investment potential. When i first started working in Penang, i got a low cost flat there. Then, a few years , when i started to work in near changlun, I got a house in changlun. I am now renting out my Penang Flat .

Sean, got an idea for u. Know u are into food blogging potentially. What if ur property reviews has a short section added on at the end of your favourite place(s) to eat in immediate area and a food review. Hey u got to eat to while making videos so why not? Add much values to viewers in determining attractiveness of the subject area. Haha

if If I buy a leasehold property lets say, and later the time comes to an end what will happen? Will i be compensated in any way if im being ask to move out?

Nope. Because you were given 99 years lawfully stated in the land title. But we have yet to see examples of stratafied examples of leasehold titles being expired. Compensation will only be given if the government acquire your land before the expiry of the lease. The value will then be based on market value.
