It’s 2AM, I swear I thought this video was titled “Southern Tornado pie”😂 I was like “hmm, that’s interesting, I wonder what’s in it”

Even though there’s a lot of differences, this immediately reminded me of onion and tomato pie that my Grandpapa makes. It doesn’t include cheese, but it’s basically a pie entirely filled with onions then topped with tomatoes as the top crust. Tragically it’s hard to find online since there’s so many variations (he just calls it “tarte à l’oignon” and I seem to only be able to find similar recipes if I Google “tarte aux oignions et tomate Québec”). But I just thought it was nice that the US South and Québec both agree tomatoes belong in a pie. Edit: oh I was able to find some just tomato pie recipes online for Québec as well!

Another recipe for me to try - the amount of tomatoes I’ve eaten because of your videos is absurd Mary. I’m in Ohio, and tomato sandwiches are now my favorite snack. Nobody else I know has even heard of them 😂 but I’m dutifully spreading the word!

One of the things I love so much about you is that you use the stuff that we use too, 😆 buttery rounds and not Ritz...because you're right, they're MUCH cheaper

Omgosh so I'm from the south and had never had this until a couple of years ago. I LOVE tomatoes and the smell of tomato plants is one of my very favorite smells. A really great baker at a temp job I had in summer 2020 made this from scratch and brought it in for everyone. Home grown tomatoes and fresh basil and homemade crust. Honey I could've eaten the whole thing myself haha 😂😂 I've made this before without a crust as a dip too and it's so good! Love this thanks for making and sharing 🥰

One of my favorite chicken dishes are chicken breasts smothered with mixture of mayonnaise, parmesan cheese, salt, pepper and whatever other seasonings you like. Bake it in the oven at 400 for about 40-45 or until chicken is cooked and its delicious!! The mayonnaise helps give it like a crust as it browns ontop. So that pie looks really good!

Hi Mary! If you’re trying to figure out how to use up some of that extra Parmesan cheese - mix it with some panko bread crumbs (about half of each). Cover pork chops or chicken breast with a light spread of Mayo (I know, trust me) then dip your meat in the Parmesan and panko mixture. Bake at 425 about 30 mins or until done in a pan covered in oil of your choice. It’s a super easy mixture and makes the chicken really crispy and juicy.
