This guide barely touches on Jongho's trainee days. We almost didn't have him in kpop. He has the longest trainee period of any member of Ateez. He became a trainee at TOP Entertainment at 11 or 12 years old. He's said 13 but that was under the Korean Age system. He was there for 3 years or so. He doesn't talk much about it but has opened up a bit more lately. He said that he became a trainee at too young an age and when his voice started to change it went a bit nasal and the people at TOP told him that they hated to listen to him sing and that if he was going to sing like that, to not even bother. There were days where the trainee managers would make the trainees practice their 90-degree bows 100 times in front of the mirror and if they needed to go to the ground floor they would be made to ask over and over and over again to make sure they were properly polite. Eventually, he had enough and left. He decided to take a few months away to figure out if he wanted to continue in kpop or if he was going to stop and do something else with his life. One week into that break KQ called to offer an audition. He wasn't sure about it, but a friend he was having lunch with convinced him to give it a try and even picked his song and outfit to wear to the audition. Even after being named to the debut team, at one point he was so tired that he just packed up his stuff and left the dorm for 15 days. He did come back, but it sounds like it was a close thing. I think knowing what he went through at such a young age helps to explain how mature and a bit standoffish he can be with people he doesn't know very well.

20:13 as far as i know San's the only kpop idol from Namhae till now. Him and his family are very well known and loved in Namhae because they're really good ppl, his dad is the director of Namhae Sports Association for the Disabled. soo its very clear why hes the honorary ambassador Namhae. The whole of Namhae is very proud of him, on an episode of Kim Jaejoong's JAEFRIENDS ATEEZ EP, they showed a banner that his mom's friends put up saying "The best performing Idol, CHOI SAN of ATEEZ, The Son of Namhae! BTS isnt even a competition! We Love You CHOI SAN!" 😭😭😭

This update came out before their last 2 albums were released. Since then a song Mingi helped produce has been released (Youth) a duet between him and Yunho. And a solo by Jongho with lyrics by Jongho (Everything) has been released. Jongho has also performed solo on immortal songs. (I think he’s done it twice but I’ve only seen the second one). He also has a few solo OST. Including the song Gravity from the drama Reborn Rich, which was one of the biggest dramas of 2022.

Turbo liked them so well KJK did a colab with them called Season Songs. ATEEZ did Black Cat Nero (KJK had a cameo in the video), they did an original summer song together called Be My Lover (English title) which has a video, and ATEEZ covered their Christmas song White Love. He asked Hongjoong to duet with him on LIVE ON UNPLUGGED. KJK and ATEEZ/members have appeared in a few shows together. Psy specifically asked for ATEEZ to perform on his episode, and after the show went backstage to find Hongjoong and tell him he was the real deal.

So mingi has 2 of his peoduced songs out now and one is on the new album the unit song youth with yunho both his songs are very emotional and heart felt 😊 Wooyoung is now an introvert which alot of us are shocked but you can also see the difference from back then to now 😊 Jongho has a lot of covers he done they are ost covers and also released a cover for his birthday last year and just had a solo song on ateez newest album called everything 😊

A lot of the comments already posted have covered a lot of info I was going to share, so I won't rehash, but I do want to comment that Wooyoung's Artist of the Month video altered my brain the first time I saw it and now it lives rent free in the back of my mind always lolololol Jongho has a solo on their newest album, it's an incredible ballad called Everything and has a MV. He also does OSTs for kdramas here and there too! If you would like some suggestions for ballad/emotional vibey Ateez songs, since most of their title tracks are RAHHHHH REBELLION AND ANARCHYYYYYY, I would suggest: Light, Star 1117, Celebrate, Not Too Late, Be With You, Dreamy Day

I wouldn't put much effort into trying to learn their positions, most of them don't really matter because they are all good at nearly all things. They can all sing, dance, and are visual. Examples: Yunho is called the main dancer but never gets the solos, those are usually San, Wooyoung or Hongjoong, only one of which is a main dancer. People think San in the main dancer but he's not even officially in the performance line. Jongho, San, and Seonghwa are the vocal line but Jongho, San, and Yunho did the colab with Pentatonix. The best freestyle rapper is Jongho the main vocalist and the best person to cover Jongho's high notes is rapper Hongjoong. PLUS lately San said the members talked recently about positions and named him the main dancer, Jongho said in a fancall that he, San and Yunho are the vocalist and Hongjoong as said Seonghwa is in the rap line. They are all so good at so many things the only titles that really mean much are Hongjoong being Captain, Jongho the main vocal and Mingi rapping, but all of them also do other things. Everyone could do pretty much anything at any given time.

Pronounced: Hong-joong (hong hard g, -joong - long oo, like june) Seonghwa (song wha, like wa) Yunho( you know) Yeosang (yo, like yo, sang, soft h for yo too) San (san lol) Mingi (Min, gee) Woo young ( oo, young, like) Jongho (jong like jung, then ho) Yeosang struggled a lot with hsi vocals n many atinys have realised that is probably due to Big Hits Vocal Trainers (it was on twitter or some, where atinys had figured out the training for Yeosang n Woo young didn't help their vocals, same with Jongho's past Company, that was really toxic n didnt give his young voice - at the time we was a preteen- a chance- Jongho has said himself that they didn't want him to sing if was going to sing "like that"). Same with Woo Young's, they needed a lot of practice when they first debuted (i mean so did Hwa, Yunho n Hongjoong) but it was quite noticeable for Yeosang. KQs vocal training proved better as his vocals have grown tremendously (see his cover hug me) and he's finally given more lines (since 2020/21 i think) The Demon line is Incredible, but more of Ateez are falling into the Demon line, theres also a trending (unofficial) new line, called the Angel Line, that includes yunho, jongho n yeosang. Mingi is called Princess by Yunho n his Mother, cause he needs extra love. Mingi is also a badass freestyle dancer n rapper. He's even freestyled dance in front of a kpop choreographer legend in an interview for the bouncy comeback, it was insane. He's a lot smarter than what people think or what he likes to put out. If any if the members have other schedules, the other will still be doing practices or relaxing. But if they have scheduled programmings, like interviews, they'd have to go on eith it. For example, Seonghwa lost a Grandparent last year n had to go back to korea while the members continued the promotions. The difference was that it was noticeable when a member is missing. The members also always mention that they are 8 makes 1 team and that the other is missing. Especially when mingi n Jongho were away (mingi for his hiatus n Jongho for his injury) Correction: Yeosang & Seonghwa are the official Visuals of Ateez. Woo young would be the Face (like a brand ambassador, that everyone could spot for marketing, think Jackson Wang from Got7 cause that dude is everywhere) please note, Hongjoong n Ateez have said that if it wasn't for Woo young, Ateez would not be this close. Funny enough, Jongho is the oldest in his siblings, whole Seonghwa is the Maknae of his siblings lol. Jongho is sensitive to sweets, so he'd much prefer spice or something flavorful. Jongho releases covers of his favorite songs n has his own written song- *Everything*, that you can watch on KZfaq. They have won immortal songs 4 times already, you can watch it on KZfaq. I can't remember the episode numbers, they were really hard for me to find 😅 cause there's like 900 episodes. I want to add a lot of fans blame KQ for his minimum amount of lines, but Yeosang originally did not want them due to not liking all the attention (lack of confidence). He’s come out of shell a lot since then and you’ll notice he gets a lot of solo moments to shine.
