I saw others put up their videos about this game. It is so much more impactful to know that you 100% games rather than run through a game once and make a review. Not saying all creators do this but it is certainly possible as to not give a true review of (key word) EVERYTHING a game has to offer. Simply playing or beating it is not always enough. Great review dude. Subscription EARNED. One thing of note I think you may have overlooked was the general world of the game and the swarming effect. My take on that is when you get swarmed and / or cornered is because they are robots afterall. Their job is combat mode enabled; to kill. Them swarming on you and pinning / cornering you is mission accomplished. I love that. Similar in a way to Doom Eternal, where everything is hostile including the environment. The Atomic Heart equivalent is obviously the dash and the debris / corpses environment obstacles. They are EVERYWHERE. Getting pinned felt like I wasn’t doing a sufficient job at robot housecleaning and needed to strategise further to not get swarmed and pinned. Atomic Heart is a great great game!!

I had to grind for 6 hours total in the first outside open section part to not just get enough Nerowhatever to max the character and energy management skills, but also enough materials to get the upgrades required to just make the game a fun shooter. What's the point in being sold as a First Person Shooter if to get to the shooting you have to go through so much crap?

As far as the translation issues go, I always considered listening in native language and using subtitles the best experience either way. Unless I'm sitting close to a large TV, I can usually read subs while still playing, and you miss out on a ton of inflection and emotion when dubbing stuff IMO. Glad the game was pretty much as I expected, solid experience missing a lot of polish.

It really depends on how well it is done and whether they just translated or really localised properly (i.e. basically rewrote the script for the new language where needed and got real voice talent, not just joe from marketing). The latter can actually end up being better than the original if done well. Although a particularly bad translation can also improve a game that is otherwise middling.

Particularly when a game is meant to be set in a certain country, as opposed to fantasy land. I got into using the local language playing Stalker, because it just felt weird hearing all these guys running around Chernobyl speaking American, and with Ukrainian language on the atmosphere went up massively. Not understanding what people are saying can help with annoying repeated background dialogue too.

It's a solid game, but I really wish they had focused less on the bunker aspect, and focused a bit more on the Bioshock Infinite style floating cities suspended far above the ground.

What I like about Mortis is that his gameplays show a clear understanding of game mechanics, and good skill within the game. I'm so tired of reviewers showing clearly Easy or Normal difficulty and still complaining about how a game was too tedious or they never had to use all options available. I'm not saying EVERYONE should enjoy a game on hard difficulties, but I do think that as a reviewer you have an obligation to at least try, in order to get a good stress test and understanding of the game's mechanics. These reviews by Mortis give me confidence that whenever he talks about gameplay and lore he is not just talking out of his ass but actually went in and put the effort into his review. Thank you.

I just started playing this game on Xbox SX and i'm hooked, is a different type of FPS, it has a gothic feeling at times, and the world is quirky but beautiful, overall i think it will be a blast for me.

I don't think I heard it in the crafting section so I just thought I'd add: Every single time you dismantle something you get 100% of the materials back. This goes from consumables/ammo right up to maxed out weapons. This makes it very easy to completely reallocate resources into trying out all the weapons without actually losing or risking anything!

The game is really well designed. For me there were little to no technical issues, so the game had practically no downsides. Very interesting world, although I think they could have done even more with it in terms of side quests

I guess by doing a pre-release playthrough you couldn't use Flawless Widescreen or UE4 injector to increase the FoV? I mean FW wasn't updated yet and there were no guides for injector. I would've threw up playing with that FoV. Great review, man!
