wowwowo mind-blowing and very impressive. I can't believe you can do all of that in the cloud 😵‍💫

Interesting, but I think a very important thing lacking from this is a discussion of the bandwidth requirements to run so many devices up and down to the cloud. I’m also still really split on the fact that we are needing to use Atomos Cloud in general as a streaming intermediary even on basic non-cloud switching workflows, this is both redundant and reliant on Atomos maintaining the service for the physical device to have value and it to be up and online as well as our destination. Streaming directly from the Connect to social media platforms AND custom RTMP as well as SRT destinations should be a fundamental feature that doesn’t need Atomos Cloud. I agree with other commenters here, currently this pricing for Atomos Cloud Switching is FAR to high, especially when it’s still pretty basic and semi professional. I like the ideas, but there are far more important professional features needed with the hardware before building this out.

As a customer it’s not feel good. After some time to look at it it’s feels like you get ripped off. I hope people now that it’s services more professional than this for a lot cheaper prices. Both use with a Atomos monitor and other brands. I feel like when they ask for 100$ a month this steps to another level off sadness. Like you said it’s too complicated to use a web site for all the stuff you set up. It’s like when do say to customers to hold on, I need to log in and setup on a web site first, LOL. It is big issue with stability with the “new” monitor and the ad on for ninja v. Like Wi-Fi issues and other. And NDI as we was waiting for a very long time is way to complicated. It’s easier to put on a external NDI device. And what’s up with the poor resolution? Why not 4k now? 720 is a joke. This is not toys. My baby call have better wireless resolution than that.

@@fredricnor8513 You are conflating several things here. While you mention the highest plan of $100, you criticize features such as 720p that are actually included in the free plan.

@@StephanK13 I think not. You now you need to pay extra for monthly production credits, so in fact it is even more expensive than the 5 - 100$ month subscription. I have been a pre tester since October/November with access to some of these now released futures. And we was not very happy with the solution and the stability.

I run live stream productions and got way too excited for the Atomos Connect and ZATO Connect, just to realize they are charging extra for the functionalities I'm looking for. Is it not enough to buy the damn product? You have to squeeze every cent out of your users? Thinking about returning / selling all my Atomos gear out of pure principle.

Why so extremely expensive? This is semi professional solution and the price is way too high and for non professional it’s a deal breaker. Even the Connect monitor is to buggy at this time. Atomos should have used some time to fix the ninja v connect and 7” connect before even start to ask for a payment for this solution. I was very happy with other Atomos products, but the Connect series is to buggy to use professionally. We was able to test the Connect with early firmware but it was not usable and to late. So now the product collects dust and more professional gear is used. I hope Atomos fix this ASAP and we can start using it again. Edit: I forgot it is also still a BETA!! What, this pricing for a beta solution. And another thing to consider here is what happens if Atomos stops this service/cloud or any server fault, then you have a monitor which is then useless for its functionality that you used your money at. Or a production that is planned or live event and then Atomos update or it’s service’s is not reachable that day.

Completely agree with you! if they think this is a Fully pro feature they should cater film making industry an and not the masses like ARRI and ALEXA does. But no they are marketing to people who are semi pro. With pro prices. Good Luck with that milking every penny to common user business model ATOMOS.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks the same. Atomos lied to us by stating that live streaming will always be free but they actually reduced the quality of the stream from 1080p to 720p. So now you are getting 720p for free instead of 1080p and the Atomos connect for ninja v has terrible sound quality that hasn’t been fixed since August 2022. It’s now apparent they’ll never fix it. I’m switching to OBS. I’m sure Atomos will probably delete my comment but I’ll post it on every social media platform.

@@thedonflyer It’s very sad to see how they picked their road. We was promised like NDI and other of their “goodies” but it came way over their own release dates. But the NDI solution is almost useless and you can’t use it in the professional recording formats, only the lower quality. And USB-C, shouldn’t this be a useful port? Like webcam stream to PC etc? As far as I know it is deactivated. Something they should have done on side note here, is implemented POE on the Ethernet port, like the Birddog backpack. So it can power up the monitor also when using Ethernet cable. The birddog NDI backpack to ninja is a genius thing. And you don’t need it just for ninja v. Also like Mars HDMI wireless transmitter or the receiver. Remember to use a god 60W POE switch or POE injector. A little tippy is you can use Atomos and other Products with a POE ejector. You can get a 12V output so you can power up camera or monitor etc that’s already use Ethernet cable.

I am not certain why you perceive it to be expensive. The basic plan priced at $5 per month provides access to the entire feature set of Live Production. Running an advanced show would only cost $12.5 per hour. The advantage of utilizing cloud technology is that every aspect of the show, including cameras and audio and video controllers/switchers, can be located anywhere in the world as long as there is an internet connection. This approach provides the feeling that all components are in a single room and hardwired. About your technical questions. You are sure you run the latest firmware?
@fredricnor8513

@@StephanK13 As commented on your other post you also need credit. I run custom firmware directly from Atomos and public release. We have several devices both S7 and Ninja V exp. Other solutions can run both locally and remotely also local and remotely on NDI and other services. And that without a monthly plan @ 4K. In many cases it is not expensive at all, 100$ + credits is a very small price in bigger production, but then again you don’t use gear like Atomos. So for the customer that bought this Connect product, S7 and the Ninja V extension it was no information about it was no NDI or the monthly subscription with the release approx a year ago. The release have been delayed a lot of time. So then I understand it’s a big disappointment for all the customers that get promised this functionality. And still it’s buggy. It’s still in fact a Beta. I think like the Wi-Fi problem is maybe a interference problem and it’s a hardware issue. So the firmware can’t fix that. And like the audio problem, stability Ethernet and Wi-Fi or deactivated USB-C. I use to love Atomos products and we have a lot of gear, almost everything they offer, but the last year disappointment is a little deal breaker for us. On live streaming, live production and other production the stability is crucial. And now we feel that they’re choosing a new direction for profit before quality. But if they can fix this issue, let’s go. That would be great. But I think that it’s too late and the other brands are already on next level and a lot of cool releases to come shortly.

Lord, I'm testing the Zato and it's completely useless without a subscription. No better than a simple monitor. And the subscription adds a service of lessen quality than a simple capture card connected to OBS!!! Who in the world was the genius who thought this was a good product. Laughable.

Awsome! And my internet has to be blazing fast too!!? Nice! This is a Way too expensive solution. Cinemaker and no Mention Top Director is a WAY more cost effective solution. Is not a cloud. But come on! This is vulgarly expensive.

Just buy the Seemo adapter (160) since its free to stream and it has free 1080... I would except 4k from the Connect at minimum. Obs is free and has more functions and will be long term cheaper for all low and mid productions or streamers lol

So what if your at a tradeshow where there is a lot of rf and wifi pollution. Will network break down at the atomos network or on the way out of the building? I’ve used bonded wifi to get a decent signal out with 3 hot spots and a ethernet connection.

@@AtomosChannel 😂 yes I understand. Thank you for that. But I want to be able to use the iPad switcher I was promised when I purchased the thing. As well as streaming to Apple TVs and all the other reasons I invested in this over other options that I didn’t know I was going to have to pay more for after the fact. I feel a little upset about believing in the company and getting excited about their vision enough to buy a product that should clearly still be in beta only to get bait and switched. Your early adopters should be rewarded in my opinion, not penalized. It’s the people who aren’t willing to support you from the jump that will benefit most from these releases after you’ve dropped the price and finally delivered on all the bells and whistles and I can’t help but feel like that’s a bit backwards.

@@KeoniGlory For this reason both I personally and professionally switching out all Atomos and now go for more professional products and services. You don’t use Atomos professionally anyway for something more than semi pro. Like Sony just drop the bomb on similar solutions without subscription that is make Atomos solution like toys. Atomos “have only” monitors and now throwaway all their customers. Like Sony, Blackmagic etc have a more professional solution and a product range to back it up. I hope Atomos new border/CEO or whatever that’s pushed this strategy is kicked out super fast. I think we all liked Atomos and what it was before.

Hey Atomos Community - I'm looking to re-vamp my livestream set up & reinvest in a new system. Currently running the ATEM Mini Pro but I'm finding HDMI's limitations a bit of a problem with larger events. I stumbled across this & was really intrigued at the idea but can't find anyone reviewing it online or any guides for best practice/user experience. Anyone got any ideas where I might find someone actually using this & sharing their experiences? Thanks!

I would never in a million years use this without the ability to connect to the Atomos monitors via FTP on my local network or Cloud for all yall snowflakes out there. Atomos is colluding with Adobe... they want you to pay again for bandwidth and storage (Amazon Web Services) you are already paying for with your internet service provider. You are in fact, uploading your footage to Adobe so they can copyright it and make /train AI content out of it. Come on, people wake up. At least Blackmagic cloud lets you connect to your network without paying for it with option for remote working. The features are impressive for remote work...like Videographer A in Colorado and Editor in New York. But the cloud folks is only someone else computer. Would be so convenient not to pull that SSD drive out every time. The solution for me is to create a program or App that runs as a local version of the Atomos now Adobe cloud network. Local means again, running our my computer and network. I not be replacing my 9 atomos shogun 7s anytime soon. Looks Like I will have to settle for Blackmagic desk-melting Hyperdecks with built in 10G and LTC timecode... that is continous. not the crappy air glu. A Joke.
