Thanks NavyVet, from ArmyVet. I just knocked my chuck off after watching your video. Wasn't sure how it came off. Now to order the one you got. I have the same drill press. Bought it at a yard sell for $10.00. No key and cannot find one to match chuck. So off to Amazon and thanks again. Don't let those bullies get to ya.

Not sure why there are so many dislikes. It's a novice installing a chuck for the first time. He didn't do it badly. Sure, it's best not to strike the chuck multiple times when installing, as the strikes can unseat the chuck, better to strike it once. A paper towel can leave shreds in the taper, yes, but the video is basically right on. It's just nitpicking. The guy used a solvent to clean the tapers, didn't just wipe them off. That's a big plus in my book, given what we typically see in a YT video featuring a machine tool. NavyVet, you did fine. Good video. Hope the machine is working out for you.

Hi, what brand/ model is the chuck you fitted into the arbor?

I have a similar model and my worker knocked the check off because he missed placed the key and was using another means to secure the bit. thanks for the video. I couldn’t understand how the taper could hold it but I guess it does

How did you get the old chuck off?

Thanks for the video. I thought maybe I was missing something, but no...you just jam it on there. Seems like a design flaw.
