I've seen many atv logging arched but they've been under utilized so I changed things up a bit and added log bunks on top of the arch - and it is amazing! Check out the video please! This is making my self reliance life easier and modern self reliance for sure, the wooded beardsman would love this...and possible Logger Wade and wranglestar as well.

Necessity is the mother of invention! Well done, Gents; well done!! I like the saying on the back of Ky's tshirt. 'Power by Design'. Must get the power from his Pops!! Love the channel, Louie! Reminds me of working in the outdoors with my Pops and uncles. Cutting firewood, clearing brush and rocks from the snowmobile trails, working on floating cabins in the backwaters.

very nice. I built one very similar to yours 2 years ago. Yours seems to be lighter and easier to manhandle. Have used mine a few times to carry 30''+ white pine. One small difference on mine is that I added a small inverted U-shaped or frown shape bracket where the top side of the log can lean on so as not slide beside the backbone and hit the winch crank. You are right, the winch for bigger logs is a bit hard to crank. I never thought of using the top end...smart and more productive when collecting smaller/lighter logs. Don't know if you got the same high temperature we have here in QC but OMG, I cleared trails the past few days and was exhausted from the heat

Oh man it is hot - yes we were cutting at 31 degrees - not sure what it was with the humid. Yes when I get it back im welding an inverted V to keep the front of the log down and away from the winch - and a few other things.

I think Damien might be a little jealous of your log carrying application but at least you tried it and she worked so fix a few things and brace a braket a few and you will have a good helping hand ✋ be like have another man in the woods with you im going to build mine with my log tongs lifting the load for quick hook up n release good job guys stay positive and be safe in the woods like to see the ear protection n eyes also

nice build, puting the hook back into the cable will put crimps in it from the weight that can not be straightened later on. Use log grapple to lift ..

Hey there great video. I built an arch very similar to yours a couple years ago for the same reason. The largest I’ve moved with mine is 22 inches x16 foot pine. Was very heavy but the quad pulled it no problem. I put a couple of hooks on the corners so I can support the log with a chain so I don’t wear out the winch. Also I parbuckle the log while lifting, less effort to raise the log. I love the idea of putting logs on top that is brilliant!!! I’m building a larger one for my Jeep so I will use your idea about logs on top. Will be Jeep width. Thanks for sharing and God bless you and yours

Go to the side of the tongue and move the log 2-3 feet forward for more tongue weight .

Great build, seems to be made well - I’ve always thought that design was a great way to haul logs by ATV. Cheers

Nice design If I can offer a suggestion. Have a trailer like the farmers use to move the combine head , to haul the logs behind your truck.

Man the one S/A axle on the rack thing looked very underbuilt & ready to simply snap with the right bump jolt in the road with a non suspended thing, imagine I did this in the Real full scale version in all types of meteorological weather conditions around the clock from 1994 thru 2001 with 5 different Heavy truck configs ranging from the Great now fazed in Alberta 5 Axle Pole too a S/A Pony up jeep 6 axle pole to the 5/6 Axle Hay rack to the better 8 Axle Reverse SuperB -3 Bunk ctl unit , ranging from 55,000 kg 5 axle winter weights GVRW thru 65,000kgs & only broke a few trucks and Riggins. But this is sandbox playtime type compared to the real thing.

Actually after looking again there's not even a Real crossverse axle supporting the spindly trailer thing with just a spindle Bolt maybe holding up the a wheel and trailer thing. Almost too much for me to even look at way way under built is this basically Tree bark only trailer thing Ad any former tree minus limbs and your asking for trouble with the next good bump or gopher hole in the road.

Talk about a Mini version & Definitely not the True Huge number's logging operation, this is more of a Playtime pass time hobby than anything else Very little actual manual physical labor involved all done with overpriced light duty Chinese knockoff like overpriced unreliable recreational gasoline powered garbage. When's that Fuel Tank on track's coming out of the tin shop ?.

I used these in Nam in 65, and on the moon in 69 but lower gravity made it so I could carry huge logs of the extraterrestrial type. Ive loaded lots more logs that in the video - my inferior welds are holding up just fine - unlike my welds I did on the titanic back in 1918.

If I was to build one which I need to, I’d make a tandem axle and where this one only hold one underneath lifted up by the winch why fix it to where you get the first log and swing it to one side or the other and use a chain or strap to hold it up front and rear and put the next log one the other side doing the same thing this will allow you to put the next in the center. And you could still put a couple more on top. Just an idea 💡
