I’m building a new PCB for my cube. There will be 2 ESP32 on board to connect to playstation controllers. 3D Pong or 3D Tetris anyone! Space invaders, Asteroids, Arkanoid or Snake! A 3th Esp32 will deal with playing stereo audio (I2S), getting audio input for vu-meters and such (I2S) and the LCD screen tasks (touch screen, sd card and TFT with SPI) and also WiFi. The tasks will be taken from the Teensy so the teensy can use all power to calculate animations for the cube. I’ll also have a dc-dc 3A stepdown convertor on the PCB.
I needed some tiny speakers and a way to build them in my cube without breaking it down and 3D printing all over. This is an arduino nano and a resistor dac and amplifier. The arduino is running a mod player to play Amiga music. The song is a remix from one of my favorite childhood games Arkanoid!
The tiny 40mm speakers pack a punch! But only inside the 3D print, outside they loose a lot of power.
Should i glue the speaker to the 3D print with epoxy glue or something????? There are no mounting holes…..

You should make a floating head in your cube linked to cameras and tracking devices/software so the head will look at you and follow you around the room.

Epoxy or possibly RTV. It appeared that they definitely needed to be fully secured. Even when they were loosely in the print, the sound really improved when you held the speaker firmly in place with your fingers. It will be really interesting to see how it sounds when it is in an enclosure.

have you thought about see through mirrors as the casing for the mega cube?

Hey brother how are you doing, actually I’m having a request can you make a normal video where you can show us this 16^16^16 cube with all it’s controls, how it works. Also one more thing can you make some videos or shorts where you can show how actually you program these cubes adding animations cause I went on searching a lot but there no suck videos on you where people like who want to learn how to generate Arduino coding for this cube. Please reply.

I may do a video on that, but i don’t have the motivation to do this right now.

Hey I was wondering if I could ask some questions about the cube you made previously. Thought you would find this comment easier here. Me and my friend are trying to make something which has some similar properties to the cube you made. The main thing I want to ask about is the electronics because frankly, we have no idea about them. I’m decent at coding and he is good at DTech but we have no idea on the electronics. Like how do you connect the leds to the computer. What does the circuit board actually do and what we would need. Any help would be great. For reference we are making a 9x9x1 grid of LEDs.

Those questions aren’t answered in a few lines of text. It’s not that complicated, but also not straight forward if you are kind of clueless. I assume you want to use normal leds, not smart leds. And you want them to have a lot of different colors. If you put a voltage across a single color led of at least the forward voltage, it turns on and if that voltage is a bit or a lot more you will destroy the led, because leds don’t limit the current through them. So you need to limit the current. If you want to dim them you need to time slice an amount of time to have them on and off. You can combine limiting current and time slicing with an led driver and some resistors. I use tlc5940, there is a datasheet you can download. You connect the led drivers to the computer, the computer needs to generate a signal the led drivers understand, usually a clock, data signal and a latch. The tlc5940 also has a blank. So you make a program that generates those 4 signals and the led drivers run the leds.

Now i’m curious, has it something to do with abusing esp32 as a bluetooth ps3 controller for less than 3 dollar 😎 or is it something with the audio?

@@MaltWhiskey haha, actually neither. I didn't even realize what this video was about till you said lol. I meant the led cubes it's awesome. And yeah ps3 with esp is cool too keep going mate.

@@sdwsom4287 He talking about the Led cubes, not worth the manufacturing hassle at the end of the day is what he will find out. You've created something only thats mean't to be done at home with big brains.
