Yeah, very helpful. But, as most technicians will tell you, putting a thing back together again is trickier than taking it apart. Your video would be much more useful (more than it is) if you showed the infernally difficult method of reattaching the button brackets and mute switch to a replacement ribbon assembly. Then showing any tips on reassembling it all. I got there in the end, but more detail on the parts of the job that actually make this so difficult would be better.

Thank you for this video. One thing I would like to mention that I noticed while doing this. When reinserting the 3 lower screws (the ones that attach the volume control) make sure that the buttons still have a nice click to them. If you tighten them too much it will prevent the volume up down from being clicked. This is up to personal preference how much you want to tightenthem.

Try to loosen one of the three screws holding volume button bracket in place. Hope it helps.

I have a problem where my ring tone doesn't work. I have gone into settings and removed the silent mode, but it still doesn't work. I can get it to vibrate only when its on silent, otherwise I have no idea when someone calls me.

The vibrator is 1 of 2 things. The motor is or the flex cable is bad. To test the motor use a volt meter or use a 9 volt battery w/ a wire connected to the positive and another wire connected to the neg side. Then connect the other end of the wires to the 2 prongs of the vibrate motor and it will buzz if the motor is good. It it doesn't work most likely you just need to replace the motor which is a lot easier. The sound has to do w the bottom speaker part of the phone. Replace the speaker unit.

Open the phone and make sure the 3 flex cable ribbons under the heat shiled at the top of the phone are connected firmly to the motherboard. Mine would buzz on and off and thats how I fixed it from doing that.

Its really not that hard.I just used this video to fix my vibration since the motor worked but the cable was apparently dead. The hardest part is getting the screws back into the silent switch since it's a tight space. Just see how the flex cable is bent before removing the old cable so you know how to bend the new flex cable. It will make sense once you get in there.

It's such a fucking cop out to just show us how to dismantle the phone and then say 'do the same in reverse'. The procedure is not always exactly the same... installing a new part is not the same as reassembling the phone... occasionally there are parts to take off of old components, screens, pads washers etc and fix to the new ones. To assume your audience knows this is asinine... if they did then they wouldn't need to watch this in the first place.
