In this video I just try to cover off how the Aus J Duoetto MK2 water heater is wired up. I cover off some of the quirks and how it switches between 12 and 240v. Also give a bit of a review of our almost 12 months of using it.

It is quite possible the heater control is “quirky” as a result of switching the negative instead of the positive as done in the wiring diagram.

Yeah it is the switch that gives me a headache. The reason I don’t want to run the 240v is due to needing to turn on the inverter which draws more wattage. But I guess it would heat up quicker. Thank you for the explanation on the circuit drawing…I will have to watch a few times:))

Great videos... now just gotta do another video on the plumbing 😅 I wanna know if you have a mixer setup for shower or if you just have the temp set for ideal shower temperature. If you have a mixer, is it one pump from the tank, then teed off to feed the water heater and straight to cold taps? So one water pump to supply your whole system?

Thats correct, I have both hot and cold and mix. Yes the piping is like you mentioned with the hot water supply t'd off the cold line. The one thing you do need to do is put a one way valve just before the heater to stop the hot water flowing backwards into the cold pipe.

Hey Duck, hows things going? miss the old BOE premieres, hopefully they'll do a vid soon - thanks for checking out the vid. Yeah the unit has been doing pretty well and a good option if you are building a camper/caravan or adding it to an existing van. Cheers Berko

Hey mate, do you know what the draw is when it’s just maintaining temperature?
@berko797 ай бұрын
I've never done that to be honest. But it would depend on what temp you are trying to maintain and the ambient temperature. I'd guess a couple of amps on average - its something i might need to test. Cheers!

Hey mate, thanks for the video! Recently bought the Aus j unit but yet to plumb/wire it up. I’m just curious why you decided to switch the negative and not the positive on the smaller cables? Cheers

Hi Mate, I just did the negative so I could locate my switch somewhere handy without running two sets of positive. You can mount it anywhere on the small wires as it just needs to break the circuit. So positive or negative just go with whatever suits your situation better
