Thanks for pulling all this together and looking forward to implementing many of these in my aquaponics system designs. The goal for me this year was to develop only in Node-red and now that you are going this direction and do such a great job at the integration part of your builds this will be a real plus to all of us interested in growing better and with much more control.

Wow, first off, THANK YOU! I have been doing research to build an HP aeroponics system and the biggest challenge overall is getting a controller that has the ability to control multiple electrical components, being able to read and respond to a change in the environment, and the data logging is just a huge plus! Thank you agaiN!

wow, that's exactly what Ive been looking for, thank you so much for sharing this with the world, really appreciate it. Being the human in my system makes me the point of failure nr1 and having it ALL automated, not just certain aspects of it, also creates an amazing opportunity to experiment and use the data to improve the efficiency of the system drastically i imagine. I also love the idea with the fans to turn the stiring bar. Thanks again and keep up the great work

I am using node-red and a collection of sensors that I have built to manage a custom 3D printed hydroponic system. Would be cool to see a community develop around this. Its been about 3 years of experimenting with little in the way of help. ESP32s and ESPHome come in handy also.

Had a quick look. Seems like you'd have to hack into that thing to get it to work so I wouldn't recommend it. You could turn it on and off with a controllable AC outlet but not dim it. Looks like it's already ready for remote control via Trolmaster system though.

Hey there!, lately I experiment some trouble when transporting my project, mainly because outside my network the raspberry looses the static IP, and also all the node MCUs need to be reconfigured to an specific wifi network. Another problem is that some internet providers don't provide access to the gateway in order to configure all this stuff. So, is there any way to make the Raspberry force itself to assign an static IP?, also could the NodeMCU prompt a message in order to log in the wifi ssid and passworld? Hope you could read this message, many thanks!

@ledgardener IS there any reason in particular that you used and arduino and a pi and didnt just run everything on the pi? do the tenetacles work better with arduinos than pi?
@LEDGardener
@LEDGardener 3 жыл бұрын
I wanted to keep the pi dedicated to only running Home Assistant without cluttering it with a bunch of code I wrote for devices. This way, it just sits on its own right next to my router, nice and clean, with nothing plugged into the GPIO, and all the Arduinos need to worry about is the physical I/O.

It's pretty easy to give Home Assistant a static IP address also. Just make a little file on a USB drive with and plugin in and reboot. You can even set it up for WiFi if you need to. github.com/home-assistant/operating-system/blob/2e7e0398996c5fb39e566e9d6d72df2975ac9f39/Documentation/network.md That's just one link. Hey and thanks for the info. I like reservations since it makes it harder to screw things up by accidentally “static-ing” multiple devices with the same address and I figured if I had people in their router config anyway, might as well do it there rather than grabbing a stick and doing it on the device. Definitely a perfectly fine alternative though.

@@LEDGardener Everyone has their own preference 🙂. I use the DHCP add-on for Home Assistant as my router is a bit crappy so it gave me that flexibility. Reservations are perfectly fine too obviously if you use a router DHCP 🙂
