I saw a documentary about one of their special session with a comedian to work on their facial expression. To make it funny, entertaining but not to overdo it the entire time. The comedian showed what facial muscle to use and all.

This is my favorite performance of Avangardey. Clean, sharp, no effects, and with everything on the line in this audition. They may not have won AGT, but Avangardey won the world.

No super flashy acrobatic moves, no special effects, no over the top costumes; just the perfect symmetry of body movements, innovative formations, and simple outfits and they just became one of the most memorable dance acts

Wow! The complxity of the choreography was astonishing, the sleeves acted like extra legs, the costume simple but so stylish. What impressed me most was the confidence not to copy anyone else. No hip hop clone but pure Japanese confidence in your own culture and style. It was highly competent and disciplined showing hundreds of hours of work. A true masterclass in choreo and execution.

I lived in Japan for 10 years. One thing I particularly noted was the dolls - they seemed to have their own souls! And, seeing these girls dance is exactly how I always imagined those dolls dancing were they to come alive at night while everyone was asleep!! Loved the ironic facial expressions, too! I've been watching this video EVERY day since they performed - my daily dose of Happiness!

凄い日本をイメージさせてるダンス。日本人形のおかっぱ、日本独特の制服、最初の菊の花の始まり、風ぐるまの足芸、座頭一みたいな振付の一部、AGT優勝者の海老名さんの首が外れるとこの踊り、歌舞伎の頭を回す芸等入れてて日本人魂の入った踊りをちゃんと見れました。面白かった

JGTの審査員のメンバーの顔ぶれがダメですね。 ダンスの審査なんて出来ない人ばかりですからね。なので自分はJGTは、はなから見ませんでした。

Normally I don't like dance group's on BGT or AGT because once you've seen one group doing aerobatics & break-dance moves you've seen them all. Every dance group seems to be like the one before, but this group was brilliant. Original & fun to watch

@@RobertPagano226 Each culture has a different flavor. I saw it but this one is the most innovative. No provocative costumes, no excessive make ups, not so many props and the only thing that stands out the most is the dance itself. In short like this a lot! Fresh to my eyes!

すごい！演技前後の余裕っぷり。もう日本でも場数を踏んでるしプロフェッショナルですね。海外コメみんなゴールデンブザーだと絶賛の嵐。最初に出た動画では、プロの振付師という人がブリリアントで革新的、そして彼女達も振付師もどれだけの労力をかけてこんなすばらしい演技を見せてくれたか感謝のコメントしてましたよ。

A commenter on another thread told me to watch this video at 0.25 speed to really see their faces and the moves. They are even more incredible when you see how in sync they are with all their movements. Even their hair moves are coordinated lol. Absolutely love them! They are crazy good and fun!

The whole theater stand ovation for them including the judges and their comments. I was hoping one of the judges to press the GOLDEN buzzer but I am sure they are going very far. The frocks lifted and forced a negative space framed by the contrasting arms revealing actual negative space in the background made the whole thing pop unlike anything I’ve ever seen. The head, hair, facial expressions all on point. Theres more on KZfaq. I can’t stop watching ❤

not just a simple dance audition, it is a display of Japanese passion and perfection into dance. they even move like the characters they're portraying so deidcated that the judges can't resist the urge to imitate them.. that's the epitome of dedication to your craft.

I agree, but the ones who get golden buzzers don’t end up performing as much since they jump ahead. I need to see this group perform as much as possible! And every performance should get millions of views online.

Agt is a rigged talent show. They don't care about normal people with normal backgrounds. They only care about sad stories like having cancer, dead father, blind, school shooting victim etc (that's how to get golden buzzer easily)...They just want more "tears" to get more views and more money

Yes, same here! They were so demure and charming during their interviews before the judges, but when the music started, it was the most wildly fun and exciting performance I've ever seen from a dance group. They are truly something unique and special.

I wonder if, because the song lyrics were in Japanese, the judges missed just how excellent the choreography paired with the words, and so they didn't get the Golden Buzzer? Akane's ideas are brilliant!

i think this camera's pov didn't do Avantgardey justice. it only captured 80% of the awesomeness of the performance because it focused too much on the characters in the middle while I think the combination and amalgamation of the whole group is part of what makes the performance so great.
