The album this song is from, Hail To The King, was somewhat a concept album, it loosely had a story within it. So this song makes more sense together with all the other songs rather than by itself. One of the best songs from that album though!

This song is about daddy Satan. It's true. 😈 The Latin part essentially means: "Keeping silence over these portents of grief, I pray: "Let destruction reign." Hail to the King is a very thematically generic metal album, and I don't mean that in a negative way. There are a ton of references to the devil and demons and fire and other classic metal cheese. Nothing about the album is very deep, or meant to be deep. It's just enjoyable throwback metal. I forgot they performed this song live at Rock in Rio, honestly. There were some crowd shot performances, but I haven't seen this full show in awhile, so it slipped my mind that there was pro-shot footage. Matt sounded great, and the song fit his range really well at that point. The guitar solo on the album is actually very different. It was the only solo to be played by Syn on a wah pedal, and he forgot it here, for some reason. This version was still extra cool. I'm glad you've gotten to this song. It's one of my favorites from Hail to the King.

Rock in rio 2013 is one of their best live performances right next to LBC 2008, I personally prefer Rio 2013 because its amazing how the crowd sings along every song

I think someone has a dark mind if they hear this as a prayer to their actual lord, then again it is very much a prayer to satan so I guess that would require a dark mind too 😂 what im getting from this song is that armageddon is on the way and the narrator of this song is praying to satan for him to join in, Matt did a classic matt and forgot a word or 2, from the first couple of lines of the song, i think thats why you didnt catch the beginning, the first (english) lines are actually: Days of warning, night brings mourning. My prayers: worthless. Heaven is burning down. And the latin intro talks about a "reign of destruction" or the likes So not only is it a prayer to satan, some shit is also going down 😂

I think this is at least partly musically and lyrically based on Mozart's Requiem? Can't recall-someone else might be able to confirm/debunk.
