Thanks for the review! I just bought one yesterday at my local shop. I’ve only put a few miles on but I love it! I’ve been a casual mountain biker for 30 years but I recently had open heart surgery. I wanted a bike to get me back out there and not have to struggle up the hills. This bike feels almost as nice as my $2k Scott hardtail but with the bonus of that powerful motor to take the edge off the climb (or completely remove the climb). I own quite a few bikes including 4 treks (3 mountain and one road) so I considered their version but Aventon fit my needs perfectly with the weight, large battery, and the very nice components.

I have watched several reviews of this bike. This is the best of all. Well done!

Awesome review I was highly considering this bike. The only thing that stopped me from getting it was you can’t find a adjustable headset which is very important for me so I went ahead and just bought the trek Marlin 8+

I have the Pace 500.3 and it has 4 pedal assist levels - which is nice since you still can have full send in turbo but still have some flexibility for other modes. I hope one day that allow customization of those too, but honestly, out of the box they are pretty good.

Excellent review, gents! An Aventon with a 750W 100Nm peak mid-drive motor??? That's not a leap, that's a bound! I think this is a great move on Aventon's part. I just hope other ebike only manufacturers like Ride1Up have similar 2024s coming out (I noticed the great LMT'D is no more and their note about upcoming new models - also great news). I don't see many big-name brands near this price with anything like a 750W/100Nm peak mid-drive. Close are the Diamondback Union 2 (rigid/commuter) or Current (road), and the Bulls 'Iconic EVO 1 - Speed' (commuter), all Class 3s. Then there's the Rize RX & RX Pro (only legal on private property), Ride1Up Prodigy V2 CVT (commuter) and the Denago EXC1 eMTB, also all Class 3. Finally, the Voltbike Venture eMTB 20mph, if you're willing to take the chance. Class 3 isn't as important in a full eMTB like this one. PAS support to 28mph is more for on road in traffic. Any non-Pro going more than 20mph on a real trail is going downhill - no assist needed. I believe the Ramblas is primarily a step-up purchase from a MTB or eMTB rather than a first MTB/eMTB. Higher end componentry, dropper post, RockShox, 750W peak, 100 Nm, 203mm front rotor, adjustable PAS levels, price and HUGE battery all say superb upgrade to me. It's a great value if you've done real trail & log/gravel road mountain biking for a while & love it. The lack of a LO fork seems a minor bummer only for those wanting an all-terrain ride. But the tread on those tires tell us pavement isn't where this bike belongs anyway - as does the 20mph limit & 130mm fork. The apparent peak power also negates not having lighter tubeless donuts for me. I agree with your assessment that the more easily replaceable, albeit expensive, wheels, tires & non-LO coil fork are a great price trade-off for all the other big positives that are also expensive & even more involved. Again, good choice. Since it has a torque sensor (mandatory!), my only negative is that the display has an underwhelming form factor. At the price point, and for what I think is a movin'-on-up-to ebike, a small black & white readout is out of sync with the rest of the package. My wish list has at least an option for a color or semi-color display with real-time wattage readout included. Not a deal breaker, though!

Very nice bike and well done by Aventon. It will be interesting to see how it does competing against the big legacy brands. They should introduce a full suspension model at under $3000 and they would have a killer.

Nice bike. Aventon did a great job with their introduction bike for beginner mountain bike riders. My partner has a Rocky mountain bike and it also has a 250 watt mid drive motor. It has lots of power because it does the same thing as the Aventon. 250 watt nominal and 750 watt max. I would compare them head to head based on your review here. Unfortunately her bike costs a LOT more than the Aventon so I think, on a cost verses features analysis, the Aventon would win. Her bike is probably a better mountain bike but it's hard to beat the introduction of the Aventon.

How was the motor noise? I did not notice much on the video, but not sure how your mics were set up. My wife has a 500W hub motor city bike and the noise is a little annoying.

Complaining about the turbo mode giving you too much power when you have 2 lower power settings was odd but cool video and bike.

Thanks for a well produced and insightful review video. There happens to be a lot of cheep made e-bikes on the market, that happens to have a lot of issues with longevity and safety. My fear is that many of these poorly made bikes will end up in a landfill. Please don't buy a bike based on price only. Make sure to research the market before you spend you hard earned money. The Aventon Ramblas appears to be a well engineered bike, with good geometry, quality capable components that can easily deal with fire roads and medium challenging trails. For those who want more from the Ramblas, after the tires wear out, buy a second set of rims. The new rims can be fitted for tubeless and the old rims can used with street tires for urban riding. If your hardcore, the next upgrade would be to air-shock forks. Now for you have a lighter and more capable bike for demanding hardtail riders. Aventon appears to provides support locations if you need help. The review had mentioned UL approved, therefore it's very unlikely to have a fire issue. Most cheep e-bike manufactures won't bother with UL approval. Bottom line, Aventon has done their homework and checked a lot of the boxes that other manufactures has ignored. Kudos goes to Aventon.

I'd like it capable of 28mph, and come with better components. I do like that it can be upgraded, but that costs a lot more than just offering upgraded components from Aventon. Like what Biktrix does. Maybe 2 or 3 different component/wheel options at different price points.

I've added the Bafang BBSHD 1,000 watt motor to three different mountain bikes now.Prefer a throttle, 35 MPH and still good on trails..Of course I'm not interested in advanced single track trails..But, different strokes for different folks..

IDK, its coming in at the same price as a Trek with zero history, so you don't know what you are getting with the frame, although it does look nice, and a Rockshox is always better than Suntour fork, thats a big plus.

The marlin 6 may be better

Nice bike overall with good specs except for the fork and tires even at that price point . Can get a good "analog" mtn bike like the Trek Roscoe 7 with better fork and tubeless tires for $1700 and it weighs 26 pounds less than the Aventon. So this bike would be good for people with some form of physical limitation that can benefit from the electric assist. Not sure why "healthy" riders would choose this over a traditional mtn bike . Many trail systems still don't allow e mtn bikes on their trails but i'm sure that will change over time
