Very good presentation about the A320 Electrical System, however on 2:47 I'm pretty sure that DC ESS is fed by DC BAT, not by DC 1.

DC ESS correctly said that is fed by the DC BAT, but DC BAT is fed in normal operation by the DC 1

Great video, well paced and put together. The batteries are really only 23 amp-hour? Doesn't seem like much. I take it power demands from them is fairly low.

Since summer 2018, two 28Ah rechargeable batteries are being fitted on Airbus’ A320 single-aisle jetliners. They will provide safe and reliable power to start the auxiliary power unit, as well as emergency backup for critical systems. On the ground, the batteries have an automatic cutoff logic that prevents them from being completely discharged. In flight, battery endurance is approximately 22 minutes

There are two types of electricity. Alternating Current (AC) and Direct Current (DC). Both are completely different and both do have some common gadgets, like a light bulb, which can work without any difficulty. It is important to understand that the AC (normally a single phase) has only one live wire called 'a phase' and the other one is a neutral wire which is ideally a zero potential charge.

In Aircrafts, the electrical system is primarily an AC system. Aircraft electrical components operate on many different voltages both AC and DC. However, most of the systems are 115 VAC with 400 Hz, 28 VDC and 26 VAC is also used in aircraft for lighting. AC power is received from an IDG Integrated Drive Generator which supply three-phase 115/200 V 400 Hz constant-frequency The DC power generation : AC output from IDG is fed to a transformer rectifiers, which convert the AC voltage into 28 VDC DC is also supplied from a battery installation. The battery provides 28 VDC.

Hello, Nice video but I have a question. In case AC 1 and AC 2 don't work. The emergency generator is activated. But why not the APU generator. Would that not be more logic?

APU Generator has Altitude restrictions. FL250 and below above that if you wanna start, you need either of the engines to work. That’s when the emergency generator comes into play.

APU would be a good idea depending on the Airbus A320 altitude but it takes some time up to start, thus RAT comes in scene.

This system used in series parallel HEV too but in different way S-P HEV used mainly inverter, big High voltage battery and electric motor for moving and also used emergency generator to regenerative braking when engine shut off also have low voltage DC system for bus and electrical components and AC for Compressor electric motor and ISG that use for start an engine Despite in fact that the torque from engine can directly move the car but it can not drive a car alone without electrical motor like in turbines that used in aircraft
