The thing many people don't appreciate about Saab is how good they were in situations that you would hopefully never encounter, but would safe your life if you did.

The only car from the 1980s to still have an above average safety rating in 2005... at least the slightly updated variant with an airbag.

You know, my dad had 4 of these. I was only born in time to see one. A baby blue 900i... And I freaking loved it. If you ever see one of these...buy it. whatever you do, just buy it.

i had a 92 900s convertible... thing was strong as a brick... back when saab was a sweden made car.

Not Bad for 1982. Around 35 years ago. I've seen more modern cars do worse in videos. Whether or not this, or any, version of the 900 had airbags I don't know, I also don't know what features (Safety wise) the 900 had. However,. by the looks of it, the passenger compartment of the car seemed to be relatively okay.

There have made 740,000 Saabs in Finland. Saab convertibles until 2003 are made and designed in Finland. All of the 2-door 900s and 90s are made in Finland. And so on. Saab is not 100% swedish car :)

The Saab Convertibles were designed in the US. But yes, each one has been produced by Valmet in Finland.

I think the quality of the Finnish ones were better too. But there would be on Saab at all without Sweden lol

the only ones not bade in trollhattan were the 9.2x (impreza) and 9.7x (trailblazer) i had a 9-5 aero also built in trollhattan

Wong. A lot of SAABs was made in Finland. Like all of the convertibles was made at the Valmet factory in Finland, beside the production of the Porsche convertibles.

when made in trollhättan they were 100% sweden

Unless made in Finland, which made 100% of all convertible 900s. Even Saab themselves in the 80s reflected on the good quality of the cars coming from the valmet plant and said they were lagging behind.
