These are 5 of the worst cars you can buy today, at least in my opinion. That's because they might not last you 100k miles! I've looked, listened, and tried out most of these vehicles and I just don't think they are reliable cars. So avoid these bad cars to buy!

come on.... It's def clickbait. Every car can last 100,000 miles... I've owned 2 C-Class Mercedes Benz, a GLC and they all three never had any mechanical problems. My wife had a cruise prior to GLC and it ran perfectly. I will agree, some cars do have known problems, but do your research. Most cars fail because people don't change their fluids and maintenance. Studies show that 20% of owners actually maintain their vehicles.

The poor people who keep their cars for 100K miles are not the ones buying new Benzes and such tho, so they don't care that it will never see that mileage. It's more of a warning to the unfortunate souls who pick one up cheap on the secondhand market thinking they've got something besides a ticking time bomb.

Y'all, my buddy has a Mercedes AMG. Fun ride, but you would not believe what he has been through with that car. OMG. And that's WITH the warranty. Over a period of about two months last year, he dropped like $5500 to get some kind of rod fixed (not covered under warranty), then he spent another $2000 or so on another repair I can't recall, but it would be minor on another car. His last big repair was covered, thankfully. But he has strongly hinted at how much he misses his Acura.

Technology does NOT equal unreliability. The most reliable car you can buy is a Lexus LS and it has lots of technology.
@AvengerAngel
@AvengerAngel 3 ай бұрын
Labor and parts. Parts and labor. All the advanced technology and the fact that many modern cars are built with no consideration to access even simple repairs without dismantling the car, the plastics and lower quality control, makes the rule on new vehicle to dump them after 3 years or 36K miles. Even 100K drive train warranties are a false narrative (enter Hyundai and Kia). Remember, those extended warranties have their exclusions, too.

Lemon law should require cars to be mechanically sound for 100k miles
@jeffb.6642
@jeffb.6642 3 ай бұрын
It should, but since that would eat into the bottom lines of Big Auto, it will not happen in this lifetime. If it did, the vehicles would be a lot more expensive to account for the increased cost of design, engineering, production, and loss of revenue from parts and service sales.

Still makes sense as long as nothing goes out in the engine or gear box. But - 6yrs, on air suspension will need changing again. I do not know what kind of engine you've got in Ford in US/Canada, but in Europe Ford diesel engines are designed by PSA Group and they are one of the best. I personally saw Ford with diesel engine with 450k km on the clock ( that was a taxi car which was used almost 24/7, 7 days a week). I also had Ford Focus 1,6 TDI 115 HP, no complains. The key is frequent oil changes.

Yes that’s correct. We in Africa as in UK use correct terminology which is “ bonnet” derived from Latin, as the origin of the English language

Start from this Point, ok European mechanic is educated and has the knowledge to perform the job. ok Charge per hour is more expensive, ok Repairers or services are only 1/3 of the cost what charge in corrupted North America and why is it like that? European people are educated North American bullies are smart without any level of education as Garages and consumers = culture

I have actually seen that too. Here it’s not so much about the craft and customer service but much more about squeezing more cash out of a customers pockets

@@ECPP I getting off the balls * how corrupt is North America? Watch Autoline - you going to see a moment showing how smart are and how beautiful cars with superior technology are. The car does even not get to production knowing how good is and how going to get richer from the sale of it. The main problems come from our super Politicians who are owned by the Car industry.

Well, first of all...I wouldn't ever HAVE a foreign car, PERIOD. I'm all about soft, quiet, pillowy ride vehicles, and unfortunately, these things are just NOT a priority in foreign cars; all they seem to care about is high performance, high speeds and "handling," which basically means a HARSH, STIFF, NOISY RIDE....you know, race car qualities. Qualities that I, for one, don't give a damn about! ALL I care about is a RELIABLE, AMERICAN BRAND, soft, luxurious, QUIET ride... automatic transmission, of course...power lumbar support, 6 or 8-way heated, power seats....and total serenity on the road, like the grand old Buick Electras and Lincolns of decades past; among Cadillacs, this only includes the big old Sedan Devilles and the Fleetwoods, you know...BEFORE they switched to sedans and coupes that ride more like pick-up trucks, and let's not even discuss reliability on ANY recent Cadillac models, because they don't exist! Who in HELL ever assumed that the average American car buyer actually wanted a stripped-down car that rides about as well as a Soap Box Derby, and is even noisier? Definitely NOT I. My next and final demand is RELIABILITY. That's IT. Those are the only three requirements for me in a vehicle; well, alright....that, along with MORE SEDAN MODELS and LESS SUV's, Jesus Christ! Talk about RIDING like a TRUCK! I find pretty much ALL SUV-type vehicles to basically be TRUCKS, and so far, NONE of the entire lot of them have impressed me yet in the areas of comfort, ride quality, QUIETNESS, seat comfort and customizable power seat positions, etc. I have friends who drive Lincoln Navigators and the smaller Lincoln "trucks," while others are fans of the Cadillac Escalades, and a few of them are fans of, and regularly drive, the Japanese/Asian models. At one time or another, I've had the occasion to ride in all of these "luxury" SUV incarnations, and I'm just NOT IMPRESSED. If I had a wife and a flock of kids, then yes, I'd likely be forced into an SUV, of course, just like the venerable old Ford/Mercury, Oldsmobile and Buick Electra Estate station wagons that my parents always had at least one of, until we all grew up and moved away. Truly SOLID, RELIABLE, SOFT and QUIET-riding American luxury cars, and sedans in particular (what's left of them!) tend to be a very disappointing segment of the American luxury sedan category. I currently drive a 2020 Lincoln Continental, which I settled for after the Town Car was discontinued and I needed a new car. It's a great car, and I have no real complaints, other that the seats, which are bucket-style in the front instead of the Town Car's bench seating, but when it's time to trade it in, which for me is usually around the 100-125k mile mark, I have absolutely no idea what I'm going to end up with. I am actually seriously considering beginning to buy the ultra-low mileage, luxury car "barn find" cars that are in still in pristine condition, and where the seats look and feel like I'm driving my new La-Z-Boy recliner....soft, floating, quiet and serene....with bulletproof engines and transmissions.
