Nah, it was way harder back then. Specially in music, you needed of a record label to be able to make a noise. Nowadays you just need your PC. Possibilities are getting better with time, plus you don't even need to look attractive, just relatable unlike back then.

Remember when every girl wanted to look like her? Well I was one of that girls, I'm not even American or Canadian, I'm Moroccan and I used to dress like her and listen to her music and imagine it's me singing! Girls in my class never knew about her, so I was this unique girl with her own style not like the rest of girls! What a beautiful days! Now I'm at my twenties, grown up woman but yet still have that gothic style in me, I would give everything to go back in time. Avril, thank you for existing.

I don't understand why not officially releasing such a masterpiece!!!!!
@gothgirl4god Жыл бұрын
Honestly I would think it could be because... she looks really unwell and distraught. Like maybe emotionally or mentally she wasn't in a good headspace that day. She doesn't seem happy at all, like she almost didn't seem like she wanted to do the shoot that day, for whatever reason. But she had to. Its a beautiful video and very well done.. singing, filming, etc. But if she wasn't doing great that day, she may not have really wanted it, or maybe they didn't wanna release it out of respect of what she was going through that day. Didn't wanna put it out there just for profit or promotion cause they did not feel right about doing so? Having a video out there showing yourself in such a heartbroken emotional state can really feel... exposing and uncomfortable possibly. So I can understand as someone who deals with mental health issues and depression why it would have been not released. Im kinda glad it was released cause its so raw and beautiful but makes me wanna cry cause she truely looks like she is hurting. But this is all just speculation.

@Алексей Ильин oh I honestly have no idea. But just by watching the video its clear she looked upset and didn't seem to be doing great that day for whatever reason. Like she seems emotional and by her body language and overall facial expressions; seems like she wasn't in a good head space that day? Maybe? I mean- It would make sense cause we all can have days and moments like that. And especially for those who have struggled with depression. Not sure if she has clinical depression or not. But to me- just seems like she didn't look like she was doing great.

@@janesvirtualworld Actually, I'm a fan of the classic Avril. 2002-03. After this era I don't hate nor like her, I'm quite aloof. I don't listen to her new songs also, so call it what you want. To me, she turned herself into a pop princess, and her new albums are kinda, um, mediocre. Let Go >>>>>>>. A true era-defining classic album to that time.

I grew up with Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park and I listened to Avril in private because I couldn't tell anyone. I still think her first album is top notch. It's a little depressing, but I like that mood. Passive agressive, passive depressive.

Desert symbolism, her crying, the lyrics, the shirt, the 1 eye in a couple shots. She said herself starting out she was very ignorant to what goes into the business. She couldn't handle the truth, now "her" whole persona has changed because that's the Illuminati for you. She didn't wanna sell out and never would. So now we have Melissa.

I first listened to this back when I was 13 and I thought she was singing about being sad cuz she couldn't stay at home, but about a year ago I realised it was about the need to travel and change enviroment. I was so depressed 2 years ago with no friends, and I decided I had to do smth about it so I packed my bags and rode my bike across 5 countries. It was the best thing've ever done. I now have lots of friends and travel whenever there's a chance. I'm in Sevilla,Spain right now for a 3-week international work placement and based on my expiriences I can give you one advice: Travel as much as possible even if you don't know where you are going, meet new friends, let it all go every once in a while, cuz it's your life and you can do whatever you want with it, after all, you only live one :)
