This song reminds me of myself when I was homeless in and out of shelters and living on the streets, addicted to heroin for 3 years about. I cried myself to sleep sooo many nights. I felt rejected, hated by my family, out of place, and worthless. I'm 3 years sober now and I'll never go down that road again!

Remember that it's never over. I was sober for 18 years. I had time to rebuild my life, get a good job, pay all my debts, find a beautiful girlfriend that I love and we got married. After all this, you might think, well, all is good! But no... I was overconfident and I thought that I could do heroin just one time for fun. Now, I'm stuck with an heroin addiction that is even worse than when I was young. I'm 48. It will never be over. Just be careful and good luck...

This is so symbolic for me. It kind of represents (at least for me) what depression feels like. The being alone and reaching out to people who don't accept you. Not knowing where you belong. And especially the part where she is out in the rain and she's going from car to car trying to get in, it's like how you are trying to find a way to cope in such a dreary miserable spot. I don't know if anyone feels the same or is it just me?

Good job on getting clean. For real. One hell of an obstacle to overcome. I've been clean since December of 2017, after year in jail and 10+ years of addiction prior to that. Anyone that can turn their life around after that has my respect. Even if i don't know them. So well done, for real.

Even I as a Conservative feel that, yes, you NEED to play this for your kids and tell them that music theory, scales, key signatures, etc exist in a necessary frame of study that even the most “grungy” songwriters HAD to know in order to write their music… this crap today has almost no musical theory basis whatsoever … no discipline = no respect.

I left home at 17. I was done living with my mentally ill mother. I had been moving ever since, for years. Absolutely no place felt like home to me nor did I want to go back home. Lost. Still dealing with the trauma and having to better myself now through therapy. This song has always held a special place in my heart.

I was extremely emotionally/physically abused in my pre teens thru my teen years with evil adoptive parents and her music literally saved my life. I was contemplating hanging myself a few times and this song helped me step away from the noose. Much love and gratitude. I am 28 and finally happy..I am glad I didn't give up

This song reminds me when I was a refugee and almost homeless at 18 years old. I had a blanket that I found filled with mice droppings so I had to use all my saved coins to wash the blanket, and then I slept that night so cold covered with my clothes instead of a blanket. Thank you Avril for being with me and keeping me strong at that time. Now I am in medical school becoming a doctor in the US and will graduate soon. Love you all. Keep fighting and don't let anything stop you.

Hang in there, it will go away, learn Psychology, build with a community of people who you can trust. Learn your skills and develop them. İt will only start with one step forwards to that. Everybody tells you "It will be ok" or "Feel better" but the the truth is, that no one (but you) knows if you will be okay or not. I have suffered from anxiety attacks , panic attacks and depression for a period of time, and the truth is that (like me) YOU HAVE THE ABILITY TO GET OUT OF THAT. Go to therapy, THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT and it will help you. And If you can't go to therapy for any reason, talk about it with someone who knows how to help you. If you can't talk to somebody for some reason, look for neuroscience and psychology videos on KZfaq, so that you can evaluate yourself and help yourself. But yes, you can overcome that. WITHOUT ANY FEAR AND DOUBT, you can.

I remember listening to this song a decade ago, when I was homeless myself. Avril Lavigne's songs got me through the toughest moments in my life. With no mother, no father, no home, there was really no place to go. However, I was able to get through it and at a certain point in your life you have to start living for you, even if you're 14 and even if nobody's home.

are you kidding? deppressed at 24 is heaven in comparison to adulthood... even if you dont think youre depressed. thats all adulthood is. theres nothing for you to live for when your body ages and fails you and all you have to loook forward to is a restless incomplete nights sleep after another work day from hell... i MISS being depressed at 24, hell, at least i was 24. shit i miss being young and agile. almost wish i never got a job and just lived on the streets so i didnt work myself to the bone and destroy every joint in my body.. i guess if you can get a non physical job its not so bad.. but i am less agile and with more problems than a 60+ year old i know that still windsurfs regularly.. and im only 30, feel like it was just yesterday i was 20. i wish i had made more mistakes with my youth. mistakes are seriously underrated, they are a good thing. thats what being young is for. jeeze, just two years ago i was skating every day after work, going for jogs in the forest, riding my dirt bike, going to the gym. now all i do is rest to try and survive the next work week...

Thank you for you nice words "Sofia Said" but in the moment I am crying because I thaught when I was on drugs how many problems I had and my mum was so worried that I made a overdose everywhere when I was running away from my home...she was ofen drunken because she couldn´t handle it anymore:I was coming at home when I want .She couldn´t sleep then and normally we loved us so much and we was so glad that we was away from my aggressive father, but then????I made her ill and she drunk a lot later on when I had my own flat with my ex - boyfriend but still a good friend,so she could drink all the time with her friends and when I was there,she told me she just drink two bears and I told her that I took nothing or pills against withdraval.but we both was or were lied to protect eachother and not to worry about eachother and I was on methadone(she didn´t know it,mom hated methadone so I don´t told her) & my mom had a withdrawal from alcohol.She told me that she never had a withdrawal from alc and she don´t know how it is but I read her book after she died and read all that and the symtoms when you have a withdrawal from alcohol...shit,we both said that we must get clean in 2000....she died with 46 suddenly in 1999,too young and I still miss my mum......(in the 80s) we lived with my father but we both do nothing and holding together against my father....sorry for this roman and sorry for my english please..... Now I have other problems....sorry again;-)I hope to come out...

When I was in my early teens experimenting with drugs and drinking etc my parents giving me a hard time not understanding why I was doing what I was my friend told me this song reminded her of me. I listened to it and bawled my eyes out. This song totally brings back how I was feeling back then.

I feel sad because when I was 13 or 14 years old I used to be sad listening to it, feeling the anxiety take all over my chest. Now I'm much older, I still living with some different problems and still having anxiety but I'm better dealing with it. Such a relatable song to so many people. To me "she wants to go home, but nobody's home" is like going back home to a drunk parent, youre running the streets to find comfort as an adolescant. Find Someone that can say they love you. You can go to your house but its not a home. That's how I felt and related. So many different people and their own experiences relate to this. She never got enough credit for some of her music.
