I was sick with Lyme disease for many years as a young girl and hearing Avril describe the experience of lying with her mother & feeling like she was going to die was just haunting. I know exactly what she's talking about. I commend her for being able to put it all into words and into her music. 💚

Sadly one finds who one's real friends are when life take an unwanted detour. I became very ill twenty years ago from complications related to the arthritis in my back which caused both digestive and breathing problems. The short version is I lost everything and was abandoned by almost everyone I knew. Only my Mom had my back and when she needed help caring for Dad I helped her, and when dementia over took her mind recently I cared for her round the clock, I owed her every moment I gave. Now that Mom is gone I really know how alone I am in this world, but I have for the most part my health back, I know how to deal with the pain when it comes, and manage my arthritis. A big thank you to Avril Lavigne for sharing this story it really got to me emotionally, and bless her Mother for caring for her when she truly needed her.

I was 13 in 2002. My teen years were hell but Avril's music was a huge help in getting me through them. Real friends don't abandon their friends because they get sick. That's their loss.
