AVX Aircraft video detailing the configuration and benefits of its Coaxial Compound Helicopter concept, proposed for the US Army's Joint Multi Role (JMR) technology demonstration in 2017 and follow-on Future Vertical Lift (FVL) Medium advanced rotorcraft to replace the UH-60 Black Hawk from the mid-2030s.

This design looks less stressful on components. Kind of looks like a beetle. Fold those blades and this bird would pack nicely on ships. Great range and payload capacity. Replace the Army Blackhawk and at least supplement the Marine Osprey. I'm sold.

Even know this far exceeded the capability than any other copter and was as fast as the V22. AVX Aircraft does not have the lobby money to pay off the right people like Bell and Sikorsky.

some big compromises made on this craft. look at all the horizontal surface area in the prop wash, and little power for fwd flight. maybe there's a place for it, but it can't be as fast as a tilt rotor, or as good as a heli in hover.

The F-35 is turning out pretty damn great after all the delays. F-35A costs expected to drop to 85 million for 2019 per Lockheed Martin latest estimate.

The Osprey is problematic, very expensive, less forgiving than traditional helicopters, dangerous to land, and has a lot of moving parts.

V-280 has this competition. If the army doesn't buy it I give up.

The V-280 is a technology demonstrator for the JMR program. JMR is a technology down-select leading to the fielded FVL program. Therefore, the V-280 is not a program for the Army (or any other service) to "buy." However, that does not preclude Bell from marketing the aircrat for foreign military sales.

Well Bell got it! Hopefully u read this 7 years on. I believe the two AVX designs would have been better for FLRAA and fara than the Lockheed Martin/Boeing/Sikorsky Defiant and Raider

Imagining this as an attack aircraft makes me laugh, but I don't want to. Decent concept, but FPRVREVIEWS makes a good point, it's too big. And it looks like a turkey. I'd have to see the JMR concept developed further, and the SIkorsky/Boeing design.
