I used to call it a hearse too (and it would kind of make sense since they're technically dealing with the dead), but it turns out Ecto-1 was actually an old fashioned ambulance. That's why it had sirens and lights even before the Ghostbusters fixed it up. That said, I definitely have seen hearse conversions of the same model! Very iconic car.

"Stairs was behind her refrigerator" You have such a good eye for details. I noticed this with your John Wick reaction as well, noticing the lack of underbelly parts when they busted a car. "Whats his name is still out there" That was Slimer. Ghostbusters was such a hit, it spawned a TV animation series, and includes Slimer as their pet ghost. The housekeeper’s “what the hell are you doing!” Was a genuine reaction, the effects crew put more pyrotechnics on the cart than the actress realized, her shock and fear was completely genuine… Also, if you like this movie (you should) check out the Ghostbusters game in Xbox/PS4/Switch, you play as an unnamed “Rookie” ‘buster and work with the original crew, the game script was actually written by Ramis and Ackroyd, and it stars most of the original voice cast (only missing Sigourney Weaver and Rick Moranis) and is the last time Harold Ramis played Egon before his passing…

Of course it's not a real brand. Generally, they don't use someone's trademark in a movie (or TV show, video game, etc.) without their permission, because they never know if someone from the company will dislike how the brand is portrayed or what it's being associated with, or just expect to have been paid for the appearance, and file a lawsuit. Instead, they come up with fake brands, and often those are reminiscent of real brands. For instance, the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man looks suspiciously similar to the Pillsbury Doughboy. (The interesting thing: apparently, there was quite a bit of product placement with other brands, but not in this case.)

What four day had powered refrigerators that could take a liquid and turn it into a gas to keep the unit cool. Everybody would’ve had an icebox. A nice box has insulated walls with a compartment and tray at the top of it to put a large piece of ice. The cold air circulates down and around storage compartments in the lower sections to keep your produce fresh. It basically was the early version of the modern day refrigerator. Before the icebox people would’ve used cold water from a running river or stream a well or a root seller to store their produce.

Ice Box is more of an old school term, it harkens back to when you basically had a cabinet, in some cases maybe a small closet type room, or a large chest or box of some type, and you would keep your food cold in it using a large chunk of ice. My Dad was old enough to remember as a young child, they lived out in a rather rural town and they still had an ice box, and you could have ice brought to the house, just like the milk man and a few other things back in those days still. Though there were of course more of what we would consider refrigerators in more urban settings already.

Ghostbusters II gets a lot of criticism and labeled "not good" when really its main problem is that it's not as good as the original. It's a sequel that is inferior to the original, but if you go in accepting that, you come out feeling it was a good movie worth watching. It's just not a great movie and definitely not a classic.

The sequel is a genuine misfire in my opinion and several notches below the first film, this is a franchise where no sequel was necessary at all - except - if they could get it right with these funny characters but they unfortunately couldn't, so when it finally happened it completely missed the mark.

8:20. I guess you're not a snooker, James. When I smoked, I did that all the time. It's actually very easy to do. You just moisten the butt of the cigarette and gang it off a dry part of the bottom lip. In thus movie they might have used honey or something, but you can hang cigarettes off your lip, easy peasy.

LMAO! James.... I'm cracking up here! (referring to the beginning of the video) Fun fact(well, not really): I saw this movie in theaters.... I remember before this movie came out.... that "ghost with the red circle/slash mark" through it, was blasted ALL over the place, with absolutely no explanation on what it meant. The public interpretation was "No/Don't Ghost"... because the red circle with a slash through it meant "no"/"Don't"/etc.... You know? We associated it with normal traffic signs. Hey, we had no internet back then..... cut me some slack. 😉 Anyhow.... for months leading up to it's release, there was a massive advertising campaign.... but absolutely NO explanation on what the movie was about. Hell, we weren't even given the TITLE on the movie..... just that red circle with the ghost behind a slash mark. Of course.... once we found out what the movie was about.... it all made sense. OH! Something I want to mention, before I forget it....... the man who portrayed Walter Peck from the EPA...... VERY good actor! Always plays an "asshole" of some sort.... William Atherton is his name. I have to recommend a couple of movies he was in, because he is technically "type cast".... but plays the roles VERY well! "Real Genius" and "Biodome" come to mind instantly. In each of those movies(The former has Val Kilmer in a leading role, and the latter has Pauli Short in a leading role) are WELL worth a viewing.... plus, I've never seen anyone react to either movie(so, that's a plus for your channel). FWIW.... I absolutely LOVE seeing him in the "Supporting Actor" role, as "that asshole". He does it SO very well! Also, how he can play "straight man" to the jokes he sets up.... just incredible! I have nothing but respect for him! 4:10 - Bill Murray(the guy running that telekinesis experiment), has played in MANY comedic roles. I would fill the buffer of this post naming them all.... but Caddyshack and Groundhog Day instantly come to mind. Harold Ramis(the other guy in the scene) wrote/produced(and in some cases, directed) some very classic comedies. Both are alumni of Saturday Night Live during it's initial seasons. 4:12 - BINGO!!! (I paused to comment right before you said that) 5:09 - Fun fact: That prop was re-used during the filming of "They Live".... starring Roddy Piper(professional wrestler), Keith David, and more than a few other famous people. In any case, I highly recommend that movie as well. 5:28 - Okay.... you(and a LOT of reactors say "graphics"..... but just know, the correct words are "Special Effects")... I don't mean to "nit-pick".... but at the time, "graphix(spelled graphics)" were computer generated.... and if you want a true definition of "CGI" of that time period, you should look up Tron and The Last Starfighter. CGI(Computer Generated Graphics) were well over a decade away, at least as far as realism was concerned. ALL of the Special Effects were done by "practical" means. There were either puppets, "stop motion", models, etc, all done "in camera". (likely, more to come) 10:16 - Yeah, basically. Sometime in the late 70s(1978, I think... but can't swear to it). While I don't remember the exact date, I *DO* remember when Elvis albums(you know, those large black disks that you put on a "record player") went "on sale" at W.T. Grant's(my aunt worked there at the time).... and people went ape-shit at the time, buying up all those records. I ended up with a few, to be honest about it. I think they were like $3-$4 at the time..... 15:56 - That "race" that you spoke of.... that happens all over the country. I will admit that I never really paid attention to the winners, but damn, that takes some stamina to do, let alone WIN!

It was actually a collaboration between Ivan Reitman the director, Dan Akroyd, the originator of the idea, and Harold Ramis, a brilliant comedic writer who decided he was the best choice to play Egon after none of the actors auditioning captured the deadpan quality he intended for the character.
