This was so funny! Most Asians over rate their ability to tell ethnicity apart just solely on looks. Saki is always fun to watch. This was the best episode in a while.

I think it's also the fact that they (the foreign members) have been living in Korea for quite some time so obviously they get the Korean hairstyles, make up and dress and act in Korean style which makes it harder to distinguish. It would be waaaaaay easier to guess Japanese person who actually lives in Japan (same with Chinese, Thai or other Asian people)

@@sara.cbc92because you haven’t interacted with SEA enough. I’m SEA (ethnically Chinese) but I can mostly tell the East Asians and SEA apart. It’s quite easy to tell Filipino/Vietnamese/Burmese apart.

I am Japanese. I knew within the first two minutes. Because he was behind her and reacted in a very Japanese way. When he was standing right in front of her, I think it was hard to tell. When he was behind her, he kept nodding and smiling. In these situations, Japanese people seldom remove the expression from their eyes. I could not figure out why he was covering his eyes. Did he cover one eye because he has expressive eyes?

I'm pretty sure he had a surgery to make his eyes bigger and one of them wasn't completely healed yet so he opted to wear the eye-patch. And since he was gonna go broke after spending most of his savings on the surgery, he said fuk it and decided to show up in this video to make some money to get by. I despise men that dye their hair to unnatural color let alone pink but I respect him for doing what he gotta do to survive.

He was bowing in a Japanese manner when he introduced himself to Saki. Just based on their Japanese and English, I could immediately tell. And I can eliminate 2~3 guys based on appearance right off the bat. I was surprised Saki didn’t pick #4. Last 2 guys had very Korean accent when speaking Japanese, though. Also, the shortest guy doesn’t have typical Japanese face. Focus on the jomon admixture. #4 shouldn’t cover his eye.

I knew it right away and I am from american but the fact they BARELY interacted with him and what not made it so weird? like they only asked him to run and a little talk after reveal. Before that NOTHING at all I was like wtf? set up ? Ive seen other guess the whatever asians but this one seems planned out i mean the reactions and everything are good but the japanese there was SO OBVIOUS i just couldn't believe why they wouldnt even interact with him AT ALL until he ran and revealed(like they already knew but played along)

「日本」でコメ検索すれば色んな人が既に正しい見極め方を紹介している。正直このSakiさんはわざと分からないフリしていると思う。何故なら彼女の判断基準が何一つとして日本人として共感できなかったから。あまりにも意味の分からない基準ばかりだから番組側からの何らかの指示に従っているのだと思った。英語コメ見た限りでは真に受けている人もいるけど、エンタメだと割り切って見てほしい。

It would be difficult to tell (the nationality) if only one person is there, but it would be very easy if five or more people are there as features become prominent. e.g. you can see it by looking at the national Indoor 5-man football team/Volleyball team/family photo. The same applies to other many countries.

I’m specifically Southeast Asian, and no Asian will ever be able to guess what kind of Asian I am because I have no accent (no matter which language I learn to speak, I can sound like a local almost immediately by dictation as long as I know how to say it) and because I look East Asian despite being a full-blooded Filipino. I live in Japan now, and the even my co-SEAs have difficulty guessing.

that's so funny how they try to find a japanese one when for me it's so obviously. if you're aware about both cultures, people's ordinary behaviour there and what most important - moves, gestures and micro gestures (!), - it's gonna be so easy to define just by looking at them :)
