Hi everyone, BIG thanks to Bang & Olufsen Ter Horst for making this happen! All the links to his info and social, aswell as all the music used and my info are down in the description box. I want to know what you guys think about this brand new Beosound Stage? and will you be getting one? All I can say is that it's even better in real life and at the very minimum it a must hear product, but really it's a must BUY product in my opinion. They outdid themselves once again, I love it!!!

Thanks a lot for Mikipedia for uploading such good quality review video. I have been looking a high quality soundbar mainly for viewing music videos and music playback. I don't have place to play with 5.1/7.1/9.1 and Beo SoundStage is the perfect soundbar for me. This is the only KZfaq video review that can let you really listen to the sound quality of Beo SoundStage. Thank you.

I’ve had a full 5.1 setup with front floor standing speakers, rear bipolars and front presence speakers for over 20 years now. I’ll be moving to a new house soon, with a smaller living room and I feel it’s time to give up the full system. I mainly feel I would miss the effect my rear bipolars give me. So I’m torn between this which is a very elegant solution (and I have small B&O bluetooth speakers that I have been very happy with), perhaps swapping out my floorstanders for something smaller, or something like the Samsung 990D or Sennheiser Ambeo Max. I’m very much leaning towards the Stage due to its simplicity, but as I say, I fear I would miss the full surround.

I guess the main thing I’m anticipating to find out is can the 4 x 4 inch woofers really take the place of a dedicated subwoofer. I can’t see how, but I’m no audiophile expert lol.
@Mikipedia
@Mikipedia 4 жыл бұрын
that's kind of an incomplete question, which dedicated sub are we comparing? one of those massive SBS dual 15'' 2000watts or one that comes with bose or sonos ? The Beosound stage is partially designed to compete with the sonos play bar WITH SUB and I think it beats that no problem. In the end all sound including bass is just sound energy, size and shape make it easier to produce certain things but it's not dedicated by that. The pressure this soundbar makes in a huuuge room is very impressive, it only gets better at home!
@kylomeep4046
@kylomeep4046 Жыл бұрын
@@Mikipediai wouldn’t go that far, it doesn’t get anywhere near as deep, nor as powerful. The Sub gen3 can hit volumes at 37hz not far off 100db whereas this does 86db at max output down to 32hz not 25hz. But this does sound much better for music, the sonos with playbar/arc, gen3 sub and surrounds handily beats this for movies. (Sorry for old reply, I was looking for this myself after I listened to a demo at B&O in Harrogate). Love the vids btw, keep it up

@@Mikipedia the subs have the same output so it’s the same as the 2019 one so my point still stands that the sonos outperforms the stage by a significant amount. Beosound Stage versus Balance if you live in a 1 bedroom apartment and listen to both music and watch movies? Is the balance superior in terms of music? How does this compare...
@Mikipedia
@Mikipedia 4 жыл бұрын
Stage is the only way, the Balance has no option to tune the latency (yet?! don't think it'll be made to do so). In terms of sound they have a similar output but I think the Stage has an easier time breathing so it doesn't need the same power to get to the same volume level. This is just a simple result of having bigger cabinets to move in. I have a Stage now and love it, it's mind blowing for how big it is and properly loud, it's also a fair bit cheaper but doesn't feel like it should be. To me the Stage feels like an absolute bargain :D

Hi Michael, I just wanted to ask you a question as it’s hard to judge this when I listened to the stage in the store. Would you say when listening to music the stereo soundstage is wider than the unit itself. I desperately want this product but stereo is important. I am thinking beolab 17 may be another option. These would sit either side of a 65 inch tv on a tv unit and the stage would sit flat in front. Would value your thoughts.
@Mikipedia
@Mikipedia 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Peter, the soundstage of the Stage is definitely wider than the physical width of the product. It does a really good job of both tv/movie and stereo music. The thing with separate speakers is that you obviously can make the soundstage as wide as your cords are long and the bl17's and Stage are very close together in performance. If you'd never want to expand, personally I'd go for the Stage so that I could use the beoremote one and that I wouldn't need to have the TV on just for music(which you would with the bl17's). The Stage is a much more rounded product with internet radio and streaming etc all build in and that tips it over the edge for me! Hope that helps?!

@Mikipedia

which MK of the A9, mk 2 or 3/4 are we talking about? makes a huge difference to my answer. either-way the A9 is a stereo setup and the Stage is 3.0 as is left center right. For TV but mostly movies this is a better setup imo because you can sit anywhere and there is a clear distinction between channels. now if you only watch talkshows it may not matter so much, but for anything else I would go for the stage. in short the the A9 is a music system that you can make do other duties, the Stage is a complete system that does everything well, the Stage is seriously impressive and it amazed me how good it was even knowing most things about it going in to the review. really airy, spacious, tight and very VERY powerful.

Sounds fantastic. I have a question regarding placement. Looking at a projector and screen set up and have no wall to place the sound bar under the screen. Would it work ceiling mounted in front of the screen? Would it be better to orient it similar to wall mount or facing downwards? Will be going to a B&O store to ask but looking for opinions.
@Mikipedia
@Mikipedia 4 жыл бұрын
that's an interesting idea! There is no real reason you can do that other than the mount is kinda meant to hold it in place via it's own weight. Is there no way you can put it under the screen laying flat? You can lay it flat and there is a setup option for laying it like that. I'd just be slightly worried when it's ceiling mounted and you don't have a way to stop it moving of mount when the bass kicks in. but besides that you can do it for sure, if you find a way to make a sort of locking system for the mount as it's a long way down :p it's a very cool idea though :D

@Mikipedia
@Mikipedia 4 жыл бұрын
@@point4894 That heavily depends on your planned use case. If you want to do music only, in one room, then the edge will be best. If you want to have music through out your house then you obviously have to go for two M5's (or one M5 and two M3's). If you want to use it for TV/movies and music and still have a huge sound then obviously you'd have to go for the Beosound Stage(again only in one room). The Stage is the best for the combination of all these things, but for pure music the Edge is the better (although not hugely so) option unless you want it in more than just one room, then go for multiple speakers a la M5/M3's. If you can get a Beosound Stage and two M5's then that takes the cake and you'll have an amazing tv and music experience through out your house. ** The M5's still WON'T give you surround sound or function as rear speakers though, they will play the same sound or something else all together.

I think the stage is an amazing design. Understated beauty, not at all like other so called sound bars. IMO it’s the best thing B&O has released since Beosound 1 and 2.
