I've been told that the new Rotex is so damn high quality that it almost makes them proprietary muzzle devices pointless. I've heard it's much nicer than the older KAC and Griffin cans that used to go on A2 cages

From my experience with 5.56 cans the Rotex is the highest quality and at that price point it is unbeatable.

Thank you for doing this review. After B&T announced the Rotex-X at ShotShow, I've been really looking into one for my 14.5" build that I got an A2 on. I'm just a fan of the default and cheapest muzzle device that is a "jack of all trades, master of none" device. It was either this or a Griffin Armament M4SD II which cost a little more.

Great video, great information and you have now added a subscriber. B&T came to my job a few weeks ago to show us their full line of firearms and suppressors for a test and evaluation. I fired this suppressor attached to our colt commando and it is amazing. It Has to be one of the if not the quietest suppressor I have run on a short, barreled M4. I was amazed. And yes, as you said for the price it can’t be beat. I have a CGS group Helios QD which is very quiet but cost me $1100! The fact this suppressor uses inconel at a price point of $675 is amazing. I am ordering one this week in 5.56 and their 7.62 version.

Man this is awesome for the price. Many people don’t realize B&T is one of the best and top suppressor manufacturers in the world. They’ve only recently started selling in the US market. The SF mount option is crazy too!

To be fair it is long and heavy though. 2 inches shorter and 6 ounces lighter would be really impressive though

I can appreciate adding a quality silencer to an AR not only to suppress the report but to cut down on noise pollution.

It seems like a non issue to have a silencer and therefore they should be removed from NFA or better yet do away with the NFA.

Just an FYI, you're supposed to change the crush washer out for shims on your A2 if you're attaching directly to the A2. This prevents possible baffle strikes depending on how your crush washer deformed during the original installation.

I did not know that but it makes sense. A crush washer could cocker a bit causing a slight misalignment.

RC2 better watch out once word starts getting out. It’s like a better RC2 or about the same for $500 less.

Deciding between the compact version or OCL Polonium 30 or Lahar 30K for my 5.56 pistol builds but wouldn’t mind the universal of the 30 cal in case I dip my toes into 300 blackout rifles.

So does this attach to the first or second groove on the A2 flash hider? I’m interested in the new SureFire A2 flash hider and it just has one groove and curious if it will work with the Rotex A2 attachment

The groove closest to the handguard. In my mind that is the second counting from the muzzle.

I’m just getting into suppressors. Learning about them…I’m assuming these are compatible with the surefire 4 prong flash hider too? Im interested in trying a suppressor but looking for a budget-ish option…

@Three60Crusader there is a Rotex X that will QD to a Surefire muzzle device. B&T is tough to beat at any price.

Hunter, I bout a rotex-x like in the video here , question does the mount have to be positioned on the 12 o clock do to the a2 flash hiders wrench flats I have a couple of ARs with A1 type that are cut all the way around and the wrench flats are at the 6 and 12 o’clock?

Does that A2 flash hider mount work with their other can? I heard B&T was making a 14oz 5.56 can but your Rotex isn't it at 21oz.

I noticed you mounted over an A2 flash hider with a crush washer, most cans that attach to an A2 say to remove the crush washer and use shims to prevent potential baffle strikes, is this also required for this can?

That is a good question, I don't know but I will find out. I will assume it is ok to mount the can to the rifle as the rifle was issued as the can was designed to mount to NATO 5.56 rifles. I do not think they would have designed it to where the flash hider would need to be removed and shims added. I will ask and find out for sure.

Cant tell over video, but sound wise, how does this compare to any other 5.56 suppressors youve shot? Griffin Armament did a test and it metered like 10dB louder than the others they tested, but nobody else with hands on seems to mention this can being louder at all.

To my ears, which are not calibrated, the B&T seemed the quieter and for sure the most comfortable.

I'm looking for 556 can but want noise reduction as priority one. I noticed you guys shooting it with no hearing protection but we cannot tell how quiet it is through video. Thoughts?

It is hearing safe for an AR for sure. That is what I was told by B&T. I think you would be very pleased with anything from the B&T line, they make quality cans.

Are the decibels comparable to a regular can? Like is the noise comparable or better than competitors?

At least as good but in my opinion a little better. Even with my SBR the Rotex-X was hearing safe.

Hey buddy, finally got my Rotex-X can out of jail. I had a question about mounting. Is it ok to mount on an A2 flash hider that has a crush washer, or just one that is timed with shims? I definitely don’t want a baffle strike. I ask this because their claim to fame is that it can attach to any NATO A2 flash hider and most of them are not timed with shims, but use a crush washer.

Either way is fine as I was told, as long at the flash hider is centered.

Just wondering if you know more about the B&T with the SureFire compatible suppressors than I do? So long story short, I just ordered the 5.56 Geissele URG-I and it comes with the SF SOCOM 4Prong pinned and welded onto it and I want a suppressor that can quick mount and detach from it and I just found these B&T ones, but I was wondering if I got the B&T SureFire compatible suppressor for 7.62, would it work on the SureFire SOCOM 4prong for 5.56? I plan on getting a SF SOCOM 4 prong my .300BLK so that's why I'd want a 7.62 SF compatible suppressor so I can quickly swap between both without having to buy two separate suppressors. Hope that makes sense. Thanks again & God Bless!

@@RJ-li2xd nope. My dealer who gets my suppressors apparently couldn't get B&T so I ended up just getting a surefire rc2 5.56 and leaving it on the giessele. I plan on getting B&T SF compatible cans in the future though.

Having the same issues with mine. Tried for hours on two different standard A2 nato bird cage flash hiders and doesn’t work at all like the one in this video. Looked on Reddit and another guy having the same issues with him said he contacted B&T and they told him they only recommend using the Wilson Combat A2 flash hider which is contradictory to how they advertise it mounting on any standard A2 flash hider. I have followed every ones advice on forums, websites and KZfaq about unscrewing it a few turns when mounting and rotating it to where it aligns to the flat side of birdcage but it just won’t latch down.

Griffin Armament did a sound test with the Rotex-X, M4SD-L and KAC NT4 on a 11.5'' MK1 host weapon. The rotex X was the loudest of all three cans from the perspective of the camera's microphone and also the sound metrology instruments. It also sounded louder to the shooter than the rest of the cans when metered at the ear but I can't trust these griffin sound measurements since they are testing against their own products but the Rotex X was the objectively the loudest can at the muzzle because it can tell a huge different if you plug in earphones and listen to it.
