@@GaryFerraro I noticed you just kind of tossing the bolts and washers, etc. into the same box as you removed them. How do you keep track of which bolt goes where for when you reassemble?

@@GaryFerraro I have an '02 Accord EX Coupe V6 with this transmission (automatic trans) ...fantastic car in mint condition & I got a good deal on it but.. when I start the car and put the trans in reverse (especially the first start of the day), it basically slams into reverse. It doesn't make a sound it's just feels like a "high pressure" shift into reverse... feels almost like someone backed into my front end..that much of a jolt. Any thoughts on this...what causes this? Thank you sooo much! I really appreciate any input you might have

@@olbricky6824 That is not common on these transmissions, i would look at the axles to see if that can be causing anything. Drive is ok?

At around 24 minutes the filter was introduced to be resting on the bottom. Cvt fluid creating particles before going back to dw-1 would probably dirty that filter. Q1. Can the 12 bolts to expose the gears be taken off to service that filter with the transmission in the bay? From the front of the car there are two transmission lines and the left one was bulged like fluid wasn't going through the radiator to come out into the transmission line on the right. Q2 Is it possible to get slipping symptoms like a clogged filter because the radiator needs to be replaced?

Do you think a transmission cooler and external filter would help to prolong the life of these transmissions?

I thought the same thing, but in reality it's a flaw in the design of the trans filter that causes them to fail It's inside the case as opposed to older autos that have it outside the case. On the flip side however, the solenoids are outside the case on the BAXA/B7XA transmissions... Which opens them up to heat damage and them getting wet. In short, Honda screwed the pooch with their autos... It's a losing battle installing a trans cooler. There's a well known TSB on alldata describing this exact problem with these fail-o-matics.

jimmy criswell Its my shop, so i dont have a set salary but a builder around here could make about 1000 per week, if you can build, diagnose and do eletrical you could probably make more

Hey Gary I have a slow 1-2 on a 2001 Honda I just bought with only 59k could it be anything other than a worn clutch pack?

when you say slow 1-2 does it seem like a long shift? If it does, early Honda's seem to do that

Its a bit more than a long shift. There is a momentary slip Just would like to know before I spend money on a switch and fluid and of course don’t want to pull it if it can be fixed externally Lots of talk about fluid change What would you do to determine if it needed to come out?

@@billbarr4108 2nd gear is the weak point on this trans, clutches usually flake causing a slip on a shift
