In this Slay the Spire gameplay, Baalorlord does an Ascension 20 run with Ironclad. First, he gives tips on choosing a path and a starting bonus. Later on, he explains his decision for each card he chooses and why it's important to the build. Towards the end, he gears up for an epic Heart fight you don't want to miss. Question good sir: if you had had prismatic shard before the Pandora’s Box, would those cards have had a chance to transmogrify into any character’s cards? Thanks in advance :)

Relics that synergise with the Shard are ones such as Prayer Wheel, Question Card, Dream Catcher, Orrery, etc. Basically all those that show card reward screens.

@@wiebevt I *think* it gives powers from the class you're playing. Or at least that wakes the most Spire sense in my mind. Under the hood it most likely uses a similar card generation mechanic to a power potion's.

Weird interaction I only just noticed. You can draw the wounds from mark of pain on turn one because of the bag of preparation. 😢

Why is it that hexaghost sometimes attacks for 6x6 for the first attack but other times only attacks for 2x6?

Attack is based on your ((HP / 12) + 1) x 6. So higher HP means getting hit for more. That's why people generally avoid healing up for Hexaghost.

Hexaghost's attacks are based on the amount of green flames surrounding it, 6 flames means big burn.

Prismatic shard is great mostly if you get wrath stance cards

Why can't mark of pain put 2 wounds in your discard pile? I feel like all the other characters have an awesome energy relic with no downside. Compare it to nuclear battery or violet lotus and it's just so much worse.

I don't hear people ask Baalor about it, but The Ssssserpent has got to be one of the worst events. I don't think I've ever accepted it.

Yes, if you have Omamori, Duvu Doll or Darkstone Periapt ... yes, if you have a shop in your path ... yes, if you have Blue Candle and Centennial Puzzle or Rupture Yes, if you're on Ironclad with multiple means to exhaust cards ... and maybe, if you've gotten an Astrolabe or Pandora's Box and are done removing starter cards Lastly yes, if you're on a modded character who uses curses to fuel their powers, such as The Cursed, The Shade or The Witch

48:56 Always enjoy it when Tesseract is taken for three cards ... Enlightenment, Master of Strategy, Secret Weapon ... hard to ask for better than that ⤴️ 1:11:55 What a great shop ... Clockwork Souvenir, Fruit Juice (drink), Power Potion, card removal (Heavy Blade) ... do you really need two Dark Embraces? 🛍️
