During the pandemic, I had some very hard times - I found Nightwish (enough said) but I also got so much help from Babymetal (which incidentally was the last band I saw live here in London pre pandemic) and between Nightwish and Babymetal - I got through some very difficult circumstances. Seeing Babymetal live was an ethereal outer body experience - I'm 55 and I have seen everyone between A-Z over 40 years of attending gigs. There are millions of songs I could suggest - but as with Nightwish, live videos are the best - but I highly recommend 'Headbanger' , 'Akatsuki' , 'Amore' , 'Karate' (official video) 'Megitsune' , 'Papaya' , 'Night Night Burn' and many more. The band is called the 'Kami Band' and in my humble opinion are the most technically gifted band in the world - they get to shine in a few songs - the only one I can think of now off the top of my head is 'Rondo of Nightmare' . But they helped me so much. Take good care of yourselves 😃

I loved this reaction. I'm a 67 year old rock guitarist and singer and for a few years this band was my "guilty pleasure" but now I brag on them every chance I get. BABYMETAL just keeps on impressing. Their new album drops in March and I can't wait. I suggest "Headbangeeer" from this same concert and one of my favorites is "Karate". But there is so much that's great you can't hardly miss. Enjoy your trip down the Foxhole. I know I live here now. lol New Sub here.

Japan... It's true they do play shows in Japan, like a multiple back-to-back series of shows in like the Tokyo Dome with sold out crowds of 55K each night. But they play arenas around the world now. Festivals, NY, L.A. in like the L.A. Forum. What we're watching, is a glimpse of the not-so-distant future.

Welcome to The ONE! BABYMETAL are borderline surreal, almost liking watching someone else's dream (and it is. Thank you Koba-metal!) They draw huge crowds everywhere they tour, I've seen them here in Charlotte, NC. The venue was packed and I mean you couldn't move. There were times I couldn't even raise my hands the crowd was so tight. They even released their last album, "METAL GALAXY" to a sold out audience at the L.A. FORUM during their last US tour. (They album actually held #1 on BILLBOARD'S top rock album chart for short period, the first Japanese band to ever do so!) BABYMETAL are about to release their new album, THE OTHER ONE, in March, then tour Europe with Sabaton. They have released 3 singles from it so far; Divine Attack, MONOCHROME and METAL KINGDOM. (hint, hint!) and that's on top of a catalog that is already about 50 songs deep with multiple live versions. They'll be back in the US one of these days, if we're lucky! Brace yourselves as you come tumbling into the foxhole, its a long way to the bottom... Kitsune dao!

Excellent reaction, thanks! You have no idea how right you are when you mentioned the little details. Because they care about the little (and the big) details to an extent that can be described as insane. This footage is from the concert "New Year Fox Festival", held on January 10th, 2015 at the Saitama Super Arena (SSA) with a sold out crowd of 20.000+ people. It was the last encore of the concert. Just imagine 90+ minutes of concert entirely performed with this level of energy. It's just epic. For this music video, they decided to keep the actual live audio (which is great!), just cutting out the majority of the "We are?? BABYMETAL" extensive outro. About the song, Herman Li and Sam Totman from Dragonforce collaborated with BABYMETAL, writing guitar arrangements and also playing on the studio version. SU-METAL still remembers this performance and specially the part they walked across the bridge with the crowd singing along as one of her favorite moments on stage. She also made this song her personal anthem. I'd like to suggest you something even earlier but not because of that less heavy. Expect no lights show, no crazy stage, no pyro... just the band and the girls. And still amazing. It was also a really important moment of their history: "Ijime, Dame, Zettai" (Live at Sonisphere 2014): kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iNVdksaTy8rWiXk.html Until next time!

I prefer to listen to music in a language I don't understand. I like to listen to voices without being burdened by the meaning of words. Also I can't listen to catchy songs in English because the words get caught in my head and I want to die. I listened to Thrift Shop by Maclemore one time and it was repeating in my head for 3 days. That isn't a problem with foreign language music. I can listen to catchy Japanese songs like Senbonzakura or Yoru Ni Kakero and it doesn't bother me at all. I love it.

"Tales of the Destinies" is full-on PROG METAL" Saw your Megadeth T-shirt..so former member Marty Friedman is like a Rock God in Japan...and one of Babymetal's 'Kami Band' members, Takayoshi Ohmura was in Marty's touring band as second lead guitarist. Fantastic reaction! Now that you've seen them in front of a crowd of 20.000 which knows them very well, you should react to their first concert out of Japan, in a festival with 60.000 people which had no idea of who they were. Considering that they where younger than in the road of resistance show, please watch "Ijime Dame Zettai" at Sonisphere in the UK 2014.

This performance is the one that truly sold me on Babymetal. I'd already seen Gimme Chocolate and Megitsune and had replayed those videos many times, but I wasn't yet a fan. The emotional ride on the Road of Resistance was my Babymetal "Road to Damascus" moment. By the end I was an emotional wreck. They took me from one peak to the next and it shows the talent and professionalism of the whole Babymetal team. I realized that BM wasn't a gimmick or even just heavy metal but a cross between metal/J-pop and a Broadway show carefully choreographed to manipulate your emotions in the best possible way. Su, Moa and Yui are able to control tens of thousands of people in the audience, which never fails to leave me astounded given their young age, but all the years in Sakura Gakuin, rehearsals and touring makes it seem effortless even as we worry if they can pull it off. The song is about fighting against the odds and never giving up and talks about beacon fires which brings to my mind the resistance of Japan against the Mongol invasions. It has a strong DragonForce feel because Li and Totman from that band collaborated on it and played it on the album. There are many places that amaze in this performance including Hideki Ayoma's drumming or the guitar solos, but I really get the chills right after the crowd "wows" finish and there is the fast guitar riff and the girls' dance break end up with them standing strongly outlined by the stage lighting. For me that's where the music, choreography, staging and emotion all come together perfectly. One thing to realize is that the crowd is a critical component in many Japanese band performances and they will have moments when they sing and even have choreographed movements. This is definitely the case for Babymetal and a big part of Yui's and Moa's job is to lead and encourage the crowd. There are online instructions for the crowd and even non-Japanese fans know what to sing in Japanese and when to join in with the dancing. You can see this participation in "Headbanger". So to see that, and for something fun, check out "Headbanger - Legend 1997" and for more Kami Band check out "Catch Me if You Can at Budokan 2014". But for the pinnacle of BM check out "Tales of the Destinies".

⚡ 💀 💕 / 🏴 🏴 🏴 "Stand up and shout, Shout!, Justice Forever!" - (Road of Resistance) - BABYMETAL believe that if a song sounds too much like one genre, then it's not a BABYMETAL song. You can definitely feel the speed metal component in this one though. This performance was at Saitama Super Arena (SSA) in January 2015, with a sold out crowd of over 20,000. Guitarists that night were Takayoshi Ohmura and Leda Cygnus. The bassist was BOH, and the drummer was Hideki Aoyama. BABYMETAL's lead singer, Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto, or Su) first appeared at SSA in 2008 as the youngest member of the J-Pop trio Karen Girl's, when she was 10 years old. Kei Kobayashi (known as Kobametal or Koba), BABYMETAL's producer, became aware of Su around that time. He was so impressed with her stage presence, and "no holds back" singing, that he was determined to build a Metal group around her. It took a few years for that crazy plan to get off the ground. Oh, and let me add another vote for a live version of 'Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!'. A great song from their first (self-titled) album.

Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。The crowd involvement (mosh pit, call & response, chant etc.) occurs wherever they go on this planet. In your video, Su-Metal shouted some words at 07:33 meaning "Bring them on!". Fans analyzed that the provocative shout was thrown at people who had been ignoring, underrating, mocking, hating and even trying to discredit BABYMETAL. That shout may have been necessary in 2015 but not any longer. She shouted it rarely since then. In 2021, on the final day (April 15) of 10 BABYMETAL BUDOKAN concerts, Su shouted the same words in the end-all of the show. She did it smilingly with matured, mild and friendly voice. It meant, I believe, "come on guys!" The audience smiled her back. I was there at the venue 😍 FYI : I have tickets to two-day shows on coming Jan. 28 / 29. ヽ(^o^)丿

The song is about following your unpaved path, which also applies to Babymetal. As you can imagine, little girls doing choreographed dance in metal didn't get immediate applause form everyone, still doesn't. But they kept on track on their unpaved path, doing something new. Many years later that video still can give me chills.

3:08 _Now Pizza Time! (Pizza Time!)_ 🦊🤘🍕 Thanks for hearing our suggestions and coming back with more BM songs. The One (BM fandom) is excited once again with the new 3rd single "METAL KINGDOM" released yesterday from upcoming album "The Other One", a live performance is coming next January 28 - 29 returning to the stage after almost two years, later they will join Sabaton's Europe Tour as a special guests. So far no one is having any copyright blocked issues reacting to those songs so don't worry about it, but my suggestion is to stick with early BM songs before jumping to this new era with more mature sound. _Road Of Resistance_ is a power/speed metal song, is one of their most epic anthem and got the guitar arrangements made by Sam Totman and Herman Li from DragonForce, and is all about facing your own path without looking back. The wall of death is nuts just like you noticed, is also called "mosh'sh pit", different from usual mosh pit because this one is safe to participate if you fall everyone will stop until you get up and get ready to keep going with the fun ride. This was part of the Trilogy Of 2015 series of concerts, live at New Year Fox Festival - Saitama Super Arena, is the last song of the encore they performed and finishing the show. By this time their fame was already high due to viral success on YT of Gimme Chocolate! MV, people from all over the world attended this live concert in Japan, and 20K souls witnessed this epic moment. With only 15 and 17 years old this moment will be forever remember when they performing this song to reminds them all the support they got from their fans no matter where they go, either a small or big stages. The Kami Band here are magnificent set of elite musicians who were send to help the girls with the metal sound, they rotate so probably you won't see some of them in all live concerts (specially the guitarrists), all of them are males. BM fans love some members of this band but none of them are official members of this group not even permanent, they only play live, so when you heard album tracks remember they aren't playing there. In this case they are: - Leda Cygnus, god of guitar, he's the only Kami Band member who's credited as a session musician when recording certain songs. - Takayoshi Ohmura, god of guitar, he's Míkio' Fujioka's pupil (another beloved Kami Band guitarist who sadly past away) and a prodigy child, you'll see his recognizable pink guitar or golden in other moments. - BOH, god of bass, he's the bald one and not only got amazing talent but her fun way to enjoy reminds me Flea from RHCP. - Hideki Aoyama, god of drums, he comes from a family of expert drummers, and his father is very famous in Japanese music scene. At the end of their shows they always said "We are BabyMetal!" with the crowd, to making them sure that they're part of this show and project too, is a line borrowed to X-Japan saying it at live concerts too. If you like this type of metal genre then you're gonna love another previous song from first album called *"Ijime Dame Zettai"* live at Sonisphere Festival 2014 and witness a precious and epic moment on their career. You can find that clip in the official channel but just be careful coz sometimes is getting blocked issues. Funny you mention Dream Theater, the producer and creator of this group, KobaMetal, is a big fan of that band and he made a tribute song called "Tales Of The Destinies", but don't rush just yet to that song, wait for a couple of more songs to get there. Thanks for sharing this and hopefully this won't be blocked. See you next time and kitsune up! 🦊🤘🔥

Thanks for the great reaction.. Like you guys, I was/am so amazed by how much dancing these ladies have to perform with outworldly consistent precision over 10-12 songs! Not sure if many Babymetal fans really fathom how insane that level of professionalism and crafts(wo)manship is.. I used to belittle the K-pop groups but when I saw a documentary on the training these idol groups have to endure I have gained deep respect for the performers - even if I mostly abhor the music. In Babymetal's case, I get the best of both worlds since I love metal music and theatrical dancing. Clearly the Babymetal ladies deliver on both fronts - singing and choreographed dancing. Nailing just one would have been awesome already. Being masters in both is just phenomenal. We will not see anything like this again.

Road of Resistance: Live In Japan 🇯🇵 @"Saitama Super Arena (SSA):- "Road of Resistance" is a song by the Japanese Kawaii metal band Babymetal. The song was released worldwide as a digital single on February 1, 2015 by Toy's Factory, serving as the lead single off the international re-release of the album Babymetal, as well the opening track from Metal Resistance. "Road of Resistance":- •Single by Babymetal. •Album: Metal Resistance. •Language: Japanese, English. •Released: February 1, 2015. •Genre: Kawaii metal, power metal. •Length: 5:19. •Label: BMD Fox, Toy's Factory, Sony Music Entertainment. •Composer: Mish-Mosh, Norimetal, Kyt-metal. •Lyricist: Kitsune of Metal God, Mk-metal, Kxbxmetal. •Producer: Kobametal. •Kyoto: (arrangement). Babymetal singles chronology:- •"Megitsune" (2013). •"Road of Resistance" (2015). •"Gimme Chocolate!!" (2015). Background and release:- "Road of Resistance" includes guest appearances by DragonForce guitarists Herman Li and Sam Totman. The song would be used to mark the beginning of the band's lore, Metal Resistance Episode III, at the concert held on November 8, 2014 at O2 Brixton Academy in London, which was also the final tour date for the band's Babymetal World Tour 2014. A trailer for the song was released on January 5, 2015, integrating footage from the debut performance of the song in London. The song was first released as a digital bonus track off the live album Live at Budokan: Red Night, with limited editions of the album containing a download card with a code to download the song at no additional charge. The song was later released as a dedicated digital single on the iTunes Store on February 1, 2015. Li and Totman are featured on guitars, although they are listed as featured artists in various regions of the re-release of the album Babymetal, on which the song appears as a bonus track, mainly in the United Kingdom. Composition:- Rolling Stone described the song as "power metal" with "shiny pop harmonies". Rock Sound called the song "everything we’d expect from [Babymetal] with a bit of Dragonforce’s exhilarating, flame-fingered guitar added in for good measure." Matt Evans of The List called the song an "empowering hyperspeed anthem". According to Kadokawa, the song consists of twin shred guitars courtesy of Li and Totman, with a dynamic sound derived of melodic speed metal. The lyrics are described as a narrative on the Metal Resistance, which the band adopted on their world tour. It has also been considered the "final stage" of Babymetal and the prologue to Metal Resistance, and a transition performance that demonstrates the band's growth from the previous album. According to Su-metal, the song refers to the Metal Resistance lore, described as "the story of Babymetal traveling across the world in the hopes of creating a new metal to unify the world as we break through the barriers of language and borders. In the middle of the song there is a part where we go, ‘Wow, Wow’ and this is where our fans from around the world can sing with us at our concerts. I hope people will listen to our album and support us at our shows." Yuimetal stated in an interview with Metal Hammer that "Road of Resistance" is her favorite song from Metal Resistance, explaining that it "has been performed at so many concerts, so a lot of memories are jam-packed. The lyrics are positive, the sound is so cool, and [the] dance is so powerful." •Recorded by Watametal and Adrian Breakspear. •Mixed by Ettore Rigotti Personnel:- •Suzuka Nakamoto (Su-metal) - Main vocals. •Yui Mizuno (Yuimetal) - Backing vocals. •Moa Kikuchi (Moametal) - Backing vocals. •Kei Kobayashi (Kobametal / Kxbxmetal / Kitsune of Metal God) - executive producer, lyrics. •Miki Watanabe (Mk-metal) - lyrics. •Norikazu Nakayama (Norimetal) - music. •Nobuaki Miyasaka (Mish-Mosh) - music, arrangement. •Sari Miyasaka (Mish-Mosh) - music, arrangement. •Keiji Kusama (Kyt-metal) - music. •Kyoto - arrangement. •Leda - bass (Kami Band) •Herman Li - guitar (courtesy of Electric Generation Recordings Ltd. and Warner Music Japan Inc.) •Sam Totman - guitar (courtesy of Electric Generation Recordings Ltd. and Warner Music Japan Inc.) Saitama Super Arena:- "Saitama Super Arena (さいたまスーパーアリーナ, Saitama Sūpā Arīna) is a multi-purpose indoor arena located in Chūō-ku, Saitama, Saitama Prefecture, Japan. It opened preliminarily on May 5, 2000, and then officially opened on September 1 of the same year. Its spectator capacity is 36,500 at maximum settings,[3] making it the second-largest indoor arena in the world. The main arena capacity is between 19,000 and 22,500". •Owner: Saitama Arena Corp. •Capacity: 36,500 (stadium setting) 18,000 (arena setting). The arena was designed by Dan Meis, who at the time was working for architecture firm Ellerbe Becket, together with Nikken Sekkei. Meis's design was selected as a result of an international design competition. The arena features a gigantic movable section of seating which can reduce capacity for smaller events and create a more intimate setting. It is a favorite venue for puroresu (Japanese professional wrestling) and mixed martial arts (MMA). It has also hosted other sports events such as boxing, basketball, volleyball, tennis, ice hockey, and gymnastics. It is the only Japanese arena equipped especially for American football. It formerly housed the John Lennon Museum, which displayed John Lennon memorabilia and closed in 2010. Great reaction, I enjoyed being there for the premier too. This video was from January 2015 at the Saitama Super Arena. Su was 17, Yui and Moa only 15 and that was over 20,000 people completely under their control. Even at that age Su just looks at the crowd, spreads her arms and the crowd opens up for a wall of death (actually several walls of death at that concert as the crowd were in sections. A journalist up in the balcony that night said he counted, I think it was, 21 mosh pits). This was also the end of a 90 minute concert and they had been keeping that same energy up without any drop in quality for the whole time. It is what they do - they appreciate people have often paid a lot of money and travelled a long way to see them, they never give anything less than 100% for every song at every concert, whether that is one of their big arena concerts in Japan or at the many various sized venues as they tour the world. This was the official video, they actually cut that outro short by at least a couple of minutes while the girls went to each different side of the stage to shout "We are ... BABYMETAL" with as many of the audience as they could get near to. As well as that long central bridge out to the small stage there were two more bridges at either end of the stage leading to a couple more small stages that they used at various points in the show. About 18 months later they sold out the Tokyo Dome (55,000 people) two nights running ... their stage there was spectacular. About the song itself. 'Road of Resistance' is a very positive song, but it isn't the usual "resist the machine or the system etc" that we might expect from the title. It is about forging your own road even where a road doesn't already exist, not necessarily going the easy way or following the path already made by somebody else, so if the way you want to go has never been trodden you may have to get past the resistance of the undergrowth, obstacles, hurdles and things blocking your way etc to find your own way. It could easily be used to describe BABYMETAL's own story - they could have followed the well trodden path of J-Pop and been very successful, but they chose to go with Metal ... but again they didn't just follow the same old format of every other metal band, they have done it their own way and it hasn't always been an easy route to follow. Herman Li and Sam Totman from the British Power/Speed metal band DragonForce did the guitar arrangements for this song and recorded the guitars for the album version - this performance was all the Kami Band's interpretation of course.

Hey guys, this is a great reaction to a great song, a truly epic performance. It's an instant classic in my book hehe. If you want to know more about the backstory of the group (at least up until the pandemic), I'd recommend this "Unhelpful Guide to Babymetal": kzfaq.info/get/bejne/e5-ohcyAp62cYqs.html It's not quite as detailed as some other guides perhaps, and it does stop at about 2020 I think, but it is very funny and I think you'll find it amusing too.

And if you consider zhat zhey were pretty much afraid of metal when they started. But amuse had obviously pretty much a reason to make Kobametal to the director of Sakura Gakuin. He was obviously one of their best habdlers. Althouggh the girls are Adults and are and were pretty much their own masters They are still under the control of Koba and his Assistants. They don't let them forget that they came from a pretty bad background butvthat they are working extremly hard. But zhere is a reason why they are the International most succesful japanese Band.. Although they pretty much broke fies to the old Kami Band. Understandable since Su was the Stage Director for many years but the old Kami Band was considerably older and the japanese undestanding for female bosses is pretty weird. While the Kami Vand West are nearly the same age as the girls and in zhe US female Stage Manager are nothing unusual. If we consider how they really grew up I don't thnk that Su or Moa are frightened about their thirtieth birthday. Since it is no longer unusual in zheir industry. The members of Band-Maid are over thirty.

This is my favorite performance by them. About 1,5 years ago, I was listening to a lot of Babymetal music. And you are right, that these are really perfect productions to attract as may people as possible, as they did attract me. But then remembering what music was to me in my younger days, I recognized, what I was missing: These are completely artifical products. Don't get me wrong, the girls doing a crazy good job, maybe even more does the band. But they don't play their own music, they don't feel it and so they cannot convey something. As far as I know, this song was written by DragonForce, I don't know, if the lyrics also are by them. For the choreography they have also specialist, who develop the dance-moves and train them. And making me that clear, it was a short way to recognise, that this wasn't the music, I was searching for (although I liked it, as I mentioned). At this moment I started searching for other new bands (especially female bands, cause I hoped, they would bring new aspects to the Rock and Metal genre, where I came from. And after a short while I discovered a very young band of 3 sisters, who not only play several instruments and sing, but also write and compose their own stuff, write the lyrics, arrange the songs and up to 2021 released 2 albums and one EP independently. Since I found them (they play Hard Rock, I forgot to mention), I listen to them on a daily basis and haven't stopped yet. Here is one song from their recent 3 album, maybe you can enjoy and have a deeper look in their catalogue; kzfaq.info/get/bejne/acWCdZOlt6-aYmg.html. If you decide to make a reaction about it, The Warning Army (TWA, their fanbase) soon will join with insights and suggestions. Have fun and a nice day.
