Jimmy Greer the best part of that note she does at the beginning of IDZ is the echo you hear. At the end of the note they show her not singing, but you can still hear it so you think it’s a backing track, but if you listen close you can hear the dwindling reverb of an echo, showing how powerful a voice she has that the mics could pick it up.

Your BabyMetal journey cannot be complete without seeing "Rondo of Nightmare (with Mischiefs of God intro)". They give each member of the band a moment to shine on their own before getting into the song. If you really want to see the drummer do his thing, as well as the rest of the Kami Band, you should definitely check it out.

My guess is the girls are the most adorable bad-ass rockstars in the business. :-) Even if they don't kick your ass, they will run circles around you ! They got so much energy, it energizes the crowd and the crowd gives it right back and it becomes like a feedback loop. And this performance, that's what you'd call a show closer... Ijime, Dame, Zettai at Sonisphere 2014 and Babymetal Death Legend 1997 are also show closers.

Su is 17, Yui and Moa are 15. This was the last encore of a 1.5 hr+ performance. What is entertaining is watching the Japanese mediaTV shows in this time period trying to figure out who these world famous 3 teenage girls are. A metal magazine publisher said on TV that they were "The most famous Japanese high school students in the world". They were not that well known in Japan but their performance at the Sonisphere festival in 2014 in England caused the metal world to take notice. Which reverberated in Japan. The shows basically boiled down to Who are you and Why are you so famous to foreigners? My favorite early MV is Megitune (official), but I include a test question; where in the video does Su say "Maiden are not to be underestimated". Check it out!
@michaelwolf66924 жыл бұрын
They have a song called Megitsune (female fox) where they say "never underestimate a girl / maiden". So yes they are serious. They hold this energy for 1 1/2 hour...last time i visited them, i had to go to the hospital cause it was to intense ^^ .

Any look that the girls have on their face is almost never accidental. They are fantastic actresses. It can't be easy to dance like they dance and have a perfect expression on your face the entire time. If you go back to some of their earliest videos they relax their expressions when they think nobody is watching. But you have to go back to the very beginning.

What's this? You checked out some BABY METAL!?!? Dude. I went down the Fox Hole in April.2019. This group is Amazing! What started as an idea in the Japanese Idol music world, exploded into a world wide music phenomenon. Here we are barely discovering their music in 2019/2020, yet they were Rocking sold out/packed arenas in Japan since like 2014 (when the ladies were just teens). And just FYI: Baby Metal just performed in Germany for their 3rd album tour across Europe (the women in their 20's now). There are those in the metal armies that post cheap insults & hate for this group. But Baby Metal gives Zero foxs about those fools, and just keep Succeeding! I think the lyrics of this song are autobiographical to some extent. They are about creating your own path and not giving up, overcoming obstacles and defeating resistance along the way. It‘s what they are doing with their own blend of Metal music. They are getting a lot of hate , especially from Metal elitists who are too closed minded to accept anything new or different, but they never give up. If anything, it gives them more strength and ambition to work even harder. And watching this video, even the most stubborn metalhead must admit that they are putting on a great show.
@SoundBoy4 жыл бұрын
I had a former co-worker who loved to shit on Baby Metal among a butt-load of other things. He was at the very core an elitist and just as much a hipster doofus. Hated everything that was popular and especially the people that liked it. I had to confront him one day and ask "Why are you so negative about things that people find enjoyment in?" I told him it's ridiculous, as a then 28 year old, to be ridiculing so many people and things that are simply making people happier. Who is he to tell people what they are allowed to enjoy? When I broke it down to him as basic as "This stuff you hate brings a hell of a lot of other people happiness and joy. Who are you to stop them from being happy?" it kind of hit home to him considering he was also a staunch Liberal and progressive in nature. I like to think I made a bit of a difference, but most likely not. At least in that moment he quickly stopped his judgement and looked a bit ashamed.
@charlesedwards28564 жыл бұрын
Sound Boy the only thing I have against what you said is bringing up being a staunch liberal and progressive. That has nothing to do with how he is. I know plenty of hipster douchebag contrarians like him that are conservative. It shows you that being a jackass knows no political affiliation.

If you ever get the chance to go to Japan, you should go to a concert there, I went to see Tool at a festival called Summer Sonic, it was a big two day event with fifty or sixty acts Mettalica, Linkin Park, but also tons of local bands. I shit you not, there is a cultural respect thing that we don't have here, you could eat off the floors in the bathrooms at a 200,000 attendee festival venue it was so clean and the people don't disrespect each other posing on the floor or dropping trash. The crowds, while super into the music were respectful to on another. It was the best experience I ever had at a concert. The only assholes pushing and elbowing were the foreigners. The act before Tool was called Buck Tic, imagine 10,000 screaming Japanese girls at a metal show. It was so weird, perfume and light moshing but so much fun. We went to a record store in Tokyo and bought one of their records the day after the show as a souveneir. Seriously Do It!!!

And just about nobody had heard of them at that point. They utterly crushed it, won over the metalheads and put themselves on the map. That set turned them from a novelty act to to global metal superstars. There's a picture out there of before they went on looking equal parts terrified and determined.

Actually very very few BM fans underestimate Kami Band (backing band). In Tokyo Dome 2-night concerts for example, whenever the girls stepped back, they go forth and nearly 55,000 audiences gave mad respect and cheers for them. Roughly speaking, BM is a whole system with 3 girls be the main representatives. The core is to balance every parts in it: vision of manager Koba, very well written songs, excellent choreography instructor Mikiko (FYI, she was the stage director and choreographer for Japan's cultural presentation at the 2016 Summer Olympics closing ceremony), high quality backing metal band (Kami band, they are among the top musicians in Japan), talented lead vocal Su, overflowing energetic and professional singers/dancers Yui and Moa. IMO, this structure is quite strange in metal world, especially western. That's why many elitists cannot accept them. But hey, if it can rock everybody out with fucking high energy in a whole rock show, then it works. Simple, right?

@@thanhnguyennguyen9235 I'm glad to hear that! Although I was thinking more about newbies or people unfamiliar with them may be dismissive because they seem gimmicky but if you give them a chance they're clearly great!

Man! You really have to watch the official video for Doki Doki Morning... You'll get an idea of how young they were when they started!

Not only are they serious, but I SERIOUSLY feel sorry for the fool that hurts any one of the girls. They will have every Babymetal fan on the planet going after them! I would NOT like to see how that turns out lol

Just came back from a 4 week trip to Japan. I went to their 2 concerts (Sun & Moon themed) on January 25 and 26. It was insane. Each day had a totally different set list, and no songs were repeated, so if you missed one concert, you missed that set list. Im not sure if i went to some music concerts or if i joined a cult. Pics: imgur.com/a/1ZJBh8t I highly recommend you get tickets when they come to the US, their concerts are crazy. These girls took the world by storm in 2012-2013. It was crazy. It was like "if your not an otaku you are now". And today this is a genre. Theres so many copycat artists.
