The plumbing to me it's on a per-building basis. I've lived in Argentina my entire life and in my experience only some hotels do that thing.

The water thing is BS in Sao Paulo though... you can definitely drink from the tap. Took my wife who's is Australian over for holidays and she was fine. And we're talking about a woman who gets sick at the drop of a hat

About the tap water, nowadays it's safe to drink. But brazilians still didn't get used to doing it, so some will tell you it's not a good water.

About the water, not really true. I live here, i dont buy water at the supermarket at ALL. Only when i'm outside home and i dont know how well the person or the place keep their water reservoir. Otherwise, i'm rarelly sick. :)

just some correction: actually, you can drink tap water with no problem at all in brazil. unless you live in a very impoverished area, with no water treatment at all, i don't think you should mind about anything at all. been doin it since always, never had any problem. and about the toilet paper thing, it is really kind of a 50/50 thing. you'll find people who do that and people who don't. in my home we've never done it, and we always thought it was fucking gross.

Hey... the toilet paper thing, just don't do it. I can't stand that idea. That is just in case you clean your nose or something. But not for the "critical stuff". Always great to have people checking out how crazy this country is. Greetings.

I’m from Brazil and I’m sorry hahaha. We wish we had a better country to show you guys... Probably In the next two/there elections things will get better here, I hope so.
