I think it's safe to say that Drew Scanlon is the coolest human being I can think of.

Just realized that the clothing he takes probably will help a lot with continuity.

This is EXACTLY how I pack, down to the red folder (mine's black, however). I try to stay as efficient as possible. The only additions over yours is that I do bring a rain jacket, along with more clothes, haha. I also keep a set of clothes in my backpack, because I've been on flights where they made everybody check in their overhead luggage, so just in case my main luggage gets lost, I always have at least one of everything on me.

Thank you for making want to travel, its so easy to get caught up in day to day life/ stress, work, school etc. It’s exciting to be excited about the world again. I feel like a lot of scary world events have made traveling seem scary and unfulfilling. However, you do a great job of showing us that there is still a lot of fun to be had.

As someone who travels pretty frequently, it was good to see someone else's techniques. Thanks, Drew. Can't wait to see what's next.

I use those same earbuds while I commute via the Ferry to SF every day. I can sit right next to the engine room and it's nice and quiet. They work wonders on planes. They don't do great at blocking out high pitch things, so car horns and plane intercoms come through just fine.

The boots Drew has are the Ecco Ian High, discontinued but you can still find them. I just bought a pair and they are in fact the best boots i've ever had! I called their customer service who was able to get one of their stores with inventory to ship them to me for free.

Bronners is awesome stuff. You can clean yourself or you can clean other stuff with it. It can be a little drying, but you can use it for face soap, body soap, shampoo, then use it to clean whatever else. Discovered it a few years ago and always have some on hand around the house.

Oh, and my suggestion on pants is these black cargo pants made for servers I've found. They're comfortable, seem not to absorb smells as easy, and have an extra slim pocket made for an order pad that is perfect for my phone when I don't need it in my jacket pocket and it's not an obvious pocket for thieves. Living homeless in Detroit means playing defense.

Dear Drew, I just subscribed. I was only ever briefly, once, subscribed to Giant Bomb but I've been following Gerstman's rag-tag irregulars since the days of the Hot Spot. I don't even play video games and haven't for years. like all the other scamps that have come and gone from the site at some point you stole my heart too and now I'm really happy I actually get to watch something from you I'm interested in. By choice I live out of my car in Detroit and I got some good shit from this video. I too am a somewhat light traveler. Unfortunately I don't live out of my car, using public WiFi, because I have money to give you, but I'll keep watching and doing what I can to support you. Good luck!

I have extremely sensitive skin and I use Dr. Bronners for skin, beard and hair with no problems. Also that Anker charger is incredible for all you people out there! It has this thing called "IQ charging" that makes it so you can charge something with a heavy draw like a tablet (2mah) and something like a phone (1-1.5mah) and they'll charge at their respective max rates. Those cheap little USB chargers can't do that, they usually are just 1mah and your thing takes forever. *The more you knowwwww*

If you're finding that the SD cards are getting unruly to carry around I use the Pelican 0915 memory card case to keep my SD cards organized while traveling. It's super bulletproof and smallish. Great advice drew! Only thing I'll add and say is that when you travel, you should really go on the "Drew" model rather than taking everything you can model. As a general rule of thumb: Whatever you think you're taking / 2 That's the minimum! I'd actually say dividing it by 3 is probably the better and more realistic option. Personal request: Drew. Please tell us after your trip how that crazy pillow worked out for you. I've been looking for a good travel pillow for a while but have yet to find a good one that works for me. :)

I sleep with a sleep mask every night. also my portable charger is 16,000mah so 20k is probably pretty good. you can probably charge a phone at least a half dozen times with that.

For pants try Prana's Stretch Zion/Brion pants for non-jean, not super campy looking synthetic trousers. Say no to jeans while travelling!

Any thoughts of doing some cloud backups of your media while you're sleeping? Sure, you probably won't get MUCH backed up unless they have awesome speeds out there, but it's better than losing everything if someone steals the laptop and little drive
