BttF is one of those rare breeds - a perfect film. Sure, you could probably pick apart the time element plot holes, but when you're watching it none of that matters. Plus it has one of the most exciting climaxes in film - I've seen the film millions of times yet I'm still on the edge of my seat. Zemeckis needs to go back and films like this again.

Good review. One mistake though -- Huey Lewis and the News ARE cool and that bit is still great.

Just finished watching parts 2 & 3 of these reviews. They are/were/will be very good. Unfortunately the DeLorean crapped out on me a week next Friday, so I had to hitch a lift back from some weirdo in a blue box.

It’s not the most perfect movie ever, but it is the most perfectly balanced movie ever. Drama, humour, action, pathos, heart.

This film is . . . perfect. It’s a perfect movie. I’m sure someone can bring up some nits to pick, but fuck em. Wouldn’t change how well scripted, paced, funny, and resonant it is. I love it so much, and it’s the last piece of nostalgia cinema from the 80’s that hasn’t been tainted

I was 17 in the spring of 1985, and I remember there was a huge amount of hype for Back To The Future, both on TV and in theaters, and in the summer of 1985 when it was released, it more than lived up to the hype. One thing that was certainly different from today was this was a movie that wasn’t a sequel, a remake or a reboot. It did have some brief references to other science fiction movies, but it was a film that stood firmly on its own. Bob Gale and Bob Zemeckis both should have written into their wills and in their estates, which remain set in stone long after death that NO sequel, reboot, or remake should ever be made of Back To The Future. After the 2016 Ghostbusters disaster, it’s what needs to happen.

Such a perfect film, even the minor changes in the future due to Marty (Lone Pine Mall).

Just watched this again. It holds up. This should be no surprise to anyone, this is actually good science fiction. BTW, had an argument with my office mate some years ago, when he stated that Christopher Lloyd mispronounced "Gigabyte". Of course, Lloyd gave "Giga" the traditional pronunciation.

I was excited to see a replica of the Delorean at Universal Studios! This is one of the best films ever made!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I actually saw a matinee showing of this one accident on the day he supposedly went to the past in the theater, back when the afternoon show was like $1 or $2 a ticket.

The problem with driving a DeLorean is that the general public are so ignorant about cars that they think you are driving the only one in existence - and "the one from the movie." Nobody has a clue that there are 9000 of them. People learn useless crap like how to cure diseases and yes, maths, whem obviously knowing about movies, computers and cars is far more important.

I remember used cars as being funny.

i stopped watching when you compared 1941 to ready player one. 1941 is a good movie and a great movie when compared to today's shit.

I must be the only person who vehemently hates the overrated, god awful Back to the Future films. The fact that I can't stand Michael J. Fox, and his constant irritating screaming in the films, plays a part, along with a story that makes no sense whatsoever if you bother to follow it. I'll stick to Primer and Time After Time, the two best films based on time travel ever made.

Tom Wilson is fine in the first movie, but in the Second and Third he is exceptional, he worked so hard and it shows.
