I completely understand what you both are expressing. You both look beautiful in your wedding pictures. My sister’s friend used to shop at a Korean store. She’s Japanese and other ethnicities. She would always be treated fine, with a Japanese last name, until she went back after changing her last name because she got married to a Korean, she thought that she would be treated even better. She was very wrong! She got spit at. It was along the lines of you don’t take our Korean boys away, so they can marry Someone Japanese.

@@KarlRock Don’t marriage to same surname is Rule in Hinduism not only in same surname but also don’t marry in 5 generations relations related to mom and father. The reason is avoiding genetic compilation the restrictions are due to if 1 does second willing to do it, also not to marry with foreigners is not a rule but he should your varnavyavstha which actually represents jobs which is by birth. The reason behind that is to improve their skills by one generation to second also girl who comes is from also that skills community. So mainly this rule are for preserving skills, and avoiding genetic complications. Yah it’s complicated even I didn’t like it but i’ll get my answer from my grand father, but he said that now day people are jobless because they leave their own jobs and going to beg for jobs to government!!!

I am 30 years old and chose an arranged marriage over a love marriage even though I was in serious relationships. But in India the diversity is too much so culturally , socially and mentally both parties should match. Which in case of western countries either people are christian or athiest and pretty much share the same culture and mindset. So in our country it is not just 2 people coming together it is 2 families coming together. Imagine a south Indian marrying a Haryanvi. No matter how progressive you are in thought it gets difficult when it comes to the whole family. And if you think you can just put behind your family for another person , then I am sorry but that is not fair because your parents and family have invested emotinally and financially in your up bringing.

I was in a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship with a British Jat Sikh , in UK she wouldn't go into Indian restaurants with me, was wary in local Asian shops and was terrified her family would find out.
