I'm a Thunder fan but I've always liked Monk. I'm hoping he stays in Sacramento. His game is a perfect fit w/ the Kings offense & it would be a shame if he left.

I think Monk feels pretty secure with this organization. Would Sac be dumb enough to screw over Malik knowing how that could affect their negotiations with Fox? I don't think that would happen and I think he could get more from Sac after next season when we have full Bird rights

I agree….malik was hosed on 6th man voting, but Malik should have been a starter, anyway……they’re are other teams who can pay the man and start him….handshake’?’ deal is wishful and can’t be part of negotiations. Malik will, and should, leave….. and with him goes any Kings ‘fun’ factor.

I think Malik fits Sacramento better than anywhere else. It’s not a shot at him at all. I figured he would want to stay with his buddy Fox.

Love the idea of Markelle and Trent those would be the two ideal players for this team. I think Malik resigning then a kevin huerter + vezenkov package with some picks gets brogdon. Another name that I think would be really cheap is thybulle. He is a liability offensively but the blazers have so many young wing players I think it would be easy to take thybulle off their hands. Also think a Gary Trent jr sign and trade where we get Trent and throw them huerter and a protected first or something is realistic. Without monk this team would suffer big time tho we’d need a return of 4th quarter fox bc the kings were terrible in the clutch monk was our closer

I'm not sure, but there's a strong possibility that Monk will leave. Also, I'm uncertain, but any move the Kings make to replace Monk would likely be a downgrade, unless they trade for a big-time player or role player. I can foresee a significant regression if the Kings fail to sign Monk and do not make a major trade this offseason.

We don't need a replica of Monk or small guards. We have those already. We need a defensive wing. However, Fultz would be interesting. He can score, and a move to Sac may spark that #1 overall pick. He's also 6'4"

Johnny Davis if we lose Malik and Colby Jones needs more time to develop. Brogdon would be dope to as well as Pritchard. We can always move fox to SG and Sabonis to PF and bring in a PG and Center.

As you said, best case scenario is Monk stays. In the event he does leave, Jose Alvarado would be a very exciting replacement.

Brogdon makes the most sense because he is a better distributor and doesn’t chuck it up. I consider him a coach Brown type of guy. Clarkson is getting old. Davion and a few second rounders would make sense to me. If they want more, no thanks. Pacers , Pelicans and Celtics aren't letting any of those guys go unless you over pay by a lot, so that's not happening. The Kings need to use this years pick for a quality backup center. Trade future 1st rounders, but keep this year. Edey or Ware can contribute right away on this team. Free agent wise, Tyus Jones makes a lot of sense. I like Payton, but he can't shoot at all.

So 1st of all let's all pray that Monk stays, the trades you laid out were not very interesting to me the only one I could stomach was Clarkson. The free agents mentioned I like a few of them but not sure if any of them would sign for what they have to offer, but the two that I see make loosing Monk easier would be Alverado and Trent. In the option three is K9 still here, does Colby Jones make a huge leap, is there a transcendent player that falls to the Kings at 13?

Honestly if Monk leaves, I would not go out and get anyone because I want the ability to go out and have the room to get someone good next year. What if we work with Kevin as being the 6th man. Grow the youngsters and look for another starter to add by the trade deadline for Barnes.

you are vastly overrating Monk. If Pritchard got Monk's minutes he'd put up equal if not better numbers than Monk. Good luck getting him from Boston. He's affordable and is a great backup. If we take George or McCain at #13 we'll have upgraded over Monk. Replacing him will be easy. It's ALSO finding a shot-blocking 4 to play alongside Sabonis and sending Barnes to the bench that is the hard part. Maybe it might mean we need to use the #13 pick on a guy like Tyler Smith and then find the Monk replacement (or Ellis backup) in the 2nd.

@@marknash6398if you watch pacers games you know how much of a difference he makes for them. He is an extremely efficient shooter even though his shooting isn’t great because he only takes smart shots. He’s great at distributing the ball and has some of the most hustle in the nba
