The Country Bears is a 2002 Disney movie with some big names like Chrisopher Walken, Haley Joel Osment, and Queen Latifah making apperances and giant life size puppets made by the Jim Henson's puppet company . Based of the Disney Parks ride Country Bear Jamboree this movie was bound to be a hit, but sadly it lost 20 million dollars in the box office and is now ignored by all of society. Today we take a look into "The Country Bears" and try to see what made this movie so bad.

I remember a bunch a weird Disney movies from the early 2000s. I think they were "losing money" and were trying anything. At least the stuff back then was different from each other and some of them actually slap.

I did read somewhere that they wanted to start making movies about the rides and shows because Pirates of the Caribbean was such a hit but they couldn't recreate that success

@@kingnusmi they're still trying. There was a Jungle Cruise movie last year and they made a Haunted Mansion movie with Eddie Murphy a long time ago. I remember liking it as a kid.

@@kingnusmi The only department from Disney that was actively loosing money in the early 2000's was their in house 2D animation department due to the rise of 3D computer animation.

@kingnusmi They were actually really hesitant to make Pirates of the Carribean because Country Bears flopped. The higher-ups pushed against Gore Verbinski and Johnny Depp, and had a lot of creative differences. Fortunately Gore and Johnny stuck to their guns, and we got the phenomenal classic trilogy... and the... other two... which exist.

Imagine if instead of being a dick, Beary's brother feels bad for Beary when their parents try to convince Beary that he's NOT adopted, but then Dexter (the brother) can't take the guilt anymore and decides to show Beary the truth about where he came from, but then tries to tell him, "Buddy. Even if you aren't biologically related to me, your still my brother. That won't change.". Beary would feel conflicted cause on the one hand, his adopted family does care about him, but he feels out of place, and then decides to journey off to Country Bear Hall. Heck, maybe BOTH brothers could've journied to Country Bear Hall. Imagine that.

The collar being a tracking collar is way better than a shock collar in a world where they acknowledge that there are the bears are sentient. ... Also, yeah it's rough, but for a kid's movie about Disney's Country Bears of all things at worst it's just cheesy man the reviews are brutal.

@@cecanimatronicguy7403 I’m not sure it was made in 2002 and I’m sure they expected it to be a big hit (because pirates was) so they were probably gonna try to work the rest of the band in with a sequel that never happened.

Hated the Country Bears. Terrible writing, terrible story and disrespecting great singers. These singers are way more talented than the country bears. The trailer spoiled the whole movie anyway.

Country used to not be like that. I grew up when it was still good and there is something about the warmth of an acoustic guitar and a steel/lap guitar and a singer with a southern twang. Man i miss those blissful days. Like most things today it's gone to shit.

"Country" music hasn't been country music since the 1960s, having been radically transformed due to influences from pop or rock. A lot of what plays on country radio stations is either "bro-country" or pop-country.
