Keep in mind that I don't think all of these albums are completely terrible, they're just pretty underwhelming compared to how good these artists can usually be for me.

I’m so glad The Forever Story didn’t suffer the same fate as Nastradamus and Encore. Plenty of songs leaked off that as well

I’m not gonna lie, I know I’m in the minority here but The Forever Story was such a disappointing album for me, especially after the long wait since DiCaprio 2, none of the songs hit how I expected. Still love JID, but I hate when he sings so much.

@@duffal0 I wasn’t really expecting to like it neither, but I really enjoyed it my first listen. I think it’s a good mix of being a work of art and being full of bangers. That being said, I can’t wait for his album with Metro Boomin 🤯

@@duffal0 I'm with you on this take. J.I.D didn't come with the same cut-throat energy he had on his previous project. Plus the beat selection was quite underwhelming on The Forever Story. I feel like he could destroy any tracks during the Dicaprio 2 era and I'm sure he still can but unfortunately, he didn't came with that energy with the last project

I like CrasH Talk tbh Tales Numb Numb Juice Drunk 5200 Dangerous CrasH Attention These are stand outs to me. The album did grow on me a lot since it dropped BUT the man does have a point when he says it’s nowhere near as great as Blank Face or even Oxy and Habits. Those album are incredible and CrasH talk is just good to me. I feel like Q is gonna come back this year with a banger of an album.

tbh you went pretty easy on donda 2. yes, it’s technically not finished, but kanye charged like $200 for it. you could literally purchase the entire discographies of multiple other artists with the money kanye charged for an underbaked unfinished mess that you could only listen to on a high tech hockey puck

Glad you highlighted ‘Project Windows’, brilliant track! I’m also very fond of ‘Life We Chose’, ‘Come Get Me’, and ‘Family’. There are still plenty of highlights to be found on Nastradamus, even with it not living up to the standard he had set for himself previously.

Nastradamus should've never happened. He's one of those artist that just cannot make rushed music. Also Project Windows was one of those tracks that was supposed to be on the original I Am, that's why it sounds better than the other ones.

Yeah man he gives me the feeling of a guy who sits and thinks for days between albums finding the best rhymes for his music. Reason why I love his music, but he isn’t like Jay-Z who can make a fire ass line in a few seconds. He’s lyrically deep which takes time.

i love owl pharaoh and finally famous. big sean's execution isn't always the best but the album has an upbeat underdog charm to it from when big sean was first coming up. it's a really feel-good album that captures a moment in time. as for owl pharaoh, it has a lot of interesting production choices, progressions, and a grittiness from travis while also capturing that similar underdog feeling as well. i love how big and grand it sounds for a debut studio mixtape, how hungry travis sounds on it. he did have a lot of cudi, and kanye's influence but there's still a lot of glimpses of the sound he'd cultivate for himself later on. i just think he found a way to make it more appealing to a greater general audience and figured himself out better in his later projects considering owl pharaoh is for a more specific audience.

A lot of stuff from Owl Pharaoh I still love and I appreciate it in the context of the story his albums seem to tell. It’s him leaving home. Days Before Rodeo is the journey to LA, Rodeo is his first taste of LA and fame. Birds is getting caught up in all the excesses that come with that life. And Astroworld is a longing to come home again.

As a person who think Flygod is an Awesome God 2 is a low tier Gunn project (only beaten by Who Made The Sunshine and HWH1 and 5), I vastly agree with your opinion on that album, especially Drive By Love. If I remember correctly, the track was track 12 for like a few days until being removed bc of sample clearance if I had to guess, and thank god it was removed cuz that is legitimately the worst Gunn song ever made at all.

I love Crashtalk because I listened to it a ton back when it dropped and it got me into Qs music. I guess its just nostalgic to me now but I love most of the songs. Of course it just sounds like every other trap artist sometimes, but i like trap and i think Q is great with it.

Completely agree. Though my first q album was oxymoron. Crash talk had bangers, 5200 was nuts, tales was insane some of the bars on there are so vividly dark, numb numb juice, black folk, crash was a great update on how he's living "gotta hit the golf course to get a peace of mind", gang gang, floating, fucking dangerous man that track is spine chilling. The only album I personally disagree with being here is CrasH Talk. It isn't better than Oxymoron or Blank Face LP but I wouldn't ever call it bad. It's a good album with 1 or 2 missteps. Been a while since I've listened to it, I might do that in preparation along with his other albums whenever Q's new album gets a release date. Besides CrasH Talk, some people seem to disagree with Owl Pharaoh being here but I haven't listened to it in years so I can't comment on that. Great video btw 🔥

I'm on the complete opposite side with your take on Donda 2. I genuenlly think that, even in it's unfinished state, it's a pretty enjoyable album mainly because of how good the production is. Also, Flowers and Security are fantastic songs to me and i hope they get released one day. (Along with Pablo, Happy, First Time in a Long Time, Louie Bags and We Did It Kid)

as a donda 2 enjoyer let me drop some info too easy and we did It kid were finished but not released (they are leaked tho) there was a planned GOOD FRIDAYS 2022 with tracks pablo, 530, true love and we did it kid all finished and supposed to release (they are all leaked just listen to them once) there was potential in the album but I think we did it kid should be released

Revival from Eminem, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind from Logic, Jesus is King from Kanye West, Dark Sky Paradise from Big Sean (except for a couple bangers admittedly), and like Views plus everything else past that point from Drake, although i was pleasantly surprised by Her Loss.

Encore is a weak Em project but I wouldn’t go as far as to say that it’s “bad” It has Mockingbird, Like Toy Soldiers, Spend Some Time, Yellow Brick Road, Evil Deeds, and Encore/Curtains Down

Stillmatic followed Nastradamus so well. If he didn’t follow back Nastradamus with a banger he would’ve fell out of the limelight quick. Well… Stillmatic was elite. Ether and Destroy and Rebuild being fire distracks definitely helped.
