My honest review of the Milwaukee 2415-20 12-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Right Angle Drill. Hint I don’t like it. Milwaukee makes great tools but really missed the mark on this one. This video explains why and what other options inside and the Milwaukee platform you choose instead.

I LOVE this tool. The skinny batteries give i better clearance than anything else. That's what matters to me. It's THE tool that fits for drilling out broken studs on a hemi engine. It's also great for when I need to get the wire wheel or other cleaning discs into hard to reach areas. I just used it for cleaning up the engine block surface gor a water pump on a 4.7l dodge v8, and I use it in many other places. Yeah, it's slow, but it is a fantastic tool in an engine bay. It's the tool I thought I would use for 1 job, but I use it way more often than I ever thought.

I have that lovely tool (he said with a eye roll). I got it with a deal and two batteries so the tool only cost $40ish. That still was a wast of money. Best thing I have used it for is when my nephews come over. I let them just put screws in random boards and don’t have to worry about them breaking a good tool! Liking the channel keep it up!!

Thanks for the heads up. I was about to buy one since I’m trying to consolidate into m12s. I have too many different chargers and too many different batteries. I see now that consolidating is a hopeless endeavor. Even Milwaukee makes junk. I have several cheep tools that have surprised me at their quality and usefulness and each has their own system that doesn’t fit anything else.. I guess I’ll have to contend with the growing assortment of chargers and batteries since those adapters add way to much bulk and they don’t make them for the off brands.
@BitnerBuilt

Well I would say they are a great brand but yea not everything’s a home run, I like the idea of running a pricer and cheaper platform, keeping it to two batteries, like a Milwaukee and ryobi. Your one off tools you can buy the cheaper and heavy use in the premium. And considering the ryobi makes the best right angle… 👍

I somewhat agree with you on the M12 right Angle. Somewhat is that for when I used it it worked. I bought it as part of a Set of tools when I purchased it must have been 6 years or more ago. My use was a tight spot, previously I used my corded close quarter Milwaukee Drill. For Big Stuff like joist drilling I use my HD Milwaukee Right Angle corded. Things I did and did not like about the M12 Right Angle. Like the chuck for holding shorter bits, overall it fit in very tight spots. Dislike the Fwd/Reverse Switch, the speed selector switch and the overall power. For the times I have used it, it works. It most likely will go to my tool self as I unpack tools to store and not in one of my drill bags. Most of those are done now by the M12 Installation Tool which is great.

I got one for the specific purpose of agitating vehicle carpeting using 1/4" brush bits. It even sucks at that because the trigger is too close to the center of rotation. It needs to be further out to maximize leverage.

You're scrubbing carpets, I'm pretty sure you can use 2 hands. No matter what tool you are using, you are going to want to apply downforce. I have also used it for that purpose, it works great. You don't want big RPMs.

Exactly, as I had mentioned the video, most people use that combination. The people who wanna buy a dedicated right angle drill, our professionals, who use this type of thing on a daily basis, and so for this to be so underpowered, doesn’t make it a professional tool.

I was super excited to check out safety source supply after seeing your video. Unfortunately it’s not a deal if you’re in Canada. Aww sorry to hear that Craig, I’ll let them know what you said. I found them through a Google search where they had the best price on a couple Milwaukee tools I was buying, so I was super happy with my purchases and left video reviews on their website and that’s when they reached out to me offering to do a sponsorship. I was all about it since their prices here in the US were super great, would much rather let people know about a site where you can save money on tools over a health food or some other paid sponsor 😬

as a _Professional_ automotive accessory fitter, this will be perfect for putting holes on the inside of plastic centre-console boxes, and otehr really tight spaces when making hidden-installs of Citizen-band radio units that have all the controls on the handset.. currently i struggle to fit my m12 hammer drill in some small spaces, and it wont fit in some consoles at all and i have to drill at an angle. as for specs : the only thing i would not use that on is steel - if i had a choice, i still would if it was my only option, i'd just go slower and more gently. additionally, as i already have a host of M12 batteries, this is the only sensible choice.
@BitnerBuilt
@BitnerBuilt 5 ай бұрын
Well, the big point that I made in the video was that it’s a professional tool form factor (your a pro) but I was disappointed in it, having the worst specs for that tools form factor on the entire market. Obviously, if you’re locked into the Milwaukee m12 platform only then it’s your only choice for the form factor. But as a big fan of Milwaukee, I was very disappointed as I expect more from the brand on a professional form factor tool.
@Ghryst
@Ghryst 5 ай бұрын
@@BitnerBuilt you said a pro wouldn't buy it even tough its aimed at pros. _my_ big point is that, it has its specific uses that it ideal for.. in my case - soft car-interior plastics. not all pros have the same user requirements, luckily Milwaukee offers a range of these - 12/18v. perhaps your user-case scenario would be more suited to the other tool? and if so, that doesnt make the M12 version a "Bad Tool", it makes it "the wrong tool for you"

Not only that, it's amazong for broken exhaust manifold studs. Left handed drill bits and this tool saves a TON of time.

For DIY, a dedicated right angle drill and an installation tool are a waste of money. If I was doing installs on a regular basis, however, I would purchase the Milwaukee install tool in a heartbeat. I also have the same DeWalt attachment for my Milwaukee M12 impact driver.
@BitnerBuilt
@BitnerBuilt 6 ай бұрын
Agreed, that’s why I took exemption to it being a diy grade tool when it’s a pro installer tool that should be designed as such. I LOVE my installation tool, excellent for cabinetry
@markc9871

I don't have one. But... Did you buy this tool expecting to build decks or drill concrete? It appears to be a light duty, short angle, quick out drill/driver. Not an impact tool. Probably made for form factor. Buy a surge if you have the room to carry it. IMO adapters are for emergencies or transitions.
@BitnerBuilt
@BitnerBuilt Жыл бұрын
Not at all what I was expecting to do with it, for me, it would be used in doing cabinetry. But the second I picked it up I knew that it was the weakest tool I had tried in years. I talked with my local Milwaukee rep and he agreed with me to 🤷

Ok and this is why I say do not buy brushed tools the HP Ryobi is top of the line brushless and will be you're best bet this why I say not every brand makes the best of everything!! First don't buy non fuel Milwaukee second never buy brushed tools you can upgrade to brushless for sometimes less jumping to another platform. This is why I'm in every platform.
