@ Griffin Steinfeld - I'm an admirer of muscle cars...that's a sweet ride! My Mom had a Malibu back in 84'....to 85', not a muscle car but it held its own. It was strong enough to move us from NY to Va. One day I'll have a cool ride. Hope the weather in S. California improves. 👌😉

Thought that too. It looked like a road movie where they fast forwarded the footage. Like a weird special fx. I have never seen that in another built car video.

I did this too, driven on the street - back in 1980-83. My 1966 Chevelle SS, 427 rectangle port heads, stud kit, 4 bolt block, SPS big bolt rods, forged TRW pistons, etc. The twin air research turbos made 30 pounds of boost (!) which was made possible by an Isky turbocycle B profile cam...and a Dana 60 rear axle to handle the power. The horsepower was “substantial” 🙂 and seeing the burnout at road speed brought back great memories! Thanks!!!

Owned a '66 Chevelle Malibu 283 powerglide, Marina blue w/ black vinyl. Replaced the bench seat with Buick Wildcat '65 buckets. We pulled the intake manifold, replaced it with an eldelbrock high-rise and a 450 cfm Holley. Went to the local muffler store and bought the hook-ups from the exhaust fro dual exhaust. The cool thing about this was that we could do everything. Bolt-on, linkage, exhaust bracket and straps. Manifold, new donuts and gaskets Just had to adjust the secondary linkage to kick in at just about to the floor. Advanced the timing a couple of degrees . ALL of this was done in about 8 hours over 2 days, Went from 195 hp to about 260. Not real fast but a lot more fun when I swapped out the powerglide with an Annapolis Transmission 4 Spd manual.

@@AutotopiaLA Right. But an LS would probably be 1000hp+. But....I may be in the minority, but the original SBC DOES have some advantages over the LS. Now, watch the guided missiles that are launched from the LS base!! By the way, before they kill me, I have an LS7 in my ride......

Looks like a lot of fun and this is what I'm into when it comes to cars. The ability to go fast in a straight line at the strip but still have the chance to just go out and cruise.

I have a gen 2 camaro with an old school SBC with a ProCharger. I was pondering the LS path, then decided that keeping to its roots is almost the “unheard” of thing to do these days...backed by a TH350 😂 Only modern thing I did was put FI on it and 4 wheel disk....hell, I’m still running 15” rims. But it’s a 10 second street LEGAL car all day long

I have a 67 El Camino that is 4 linked for 15x14 rears, NHRA roll bar, etc... that is close to being done like your beautiful Chevelle, but ran out of money (illness). When finished it will be just like your car...with a truck bed! Your car reminded me why I love this A-Body style. Southern California A body cars represent muscle cars, imo.

I liked the longer trunk on the earlier Chevelles. 66 is my favorite car but I'm head over heels for early Impalas too. Chevy made magic with their styling. The only other car I can think of that would compare would probably be the 69 charger. That car was beautiful!

@@DzHarryNuttz yes I like the lines on the charger that are similar to the 66 67 Chevelle in the respect that is kind of stretched out a little bit. I love the 1965 Impala 2 door from the bubble tail lights on the trunk, it very much resembles a charger in some ways. The thing that's cool about the 65 Impala is they are still affordable. You can find a decent project for around 10 or 15 and you can find a decent driver for right around 25. I'm right there with you man I get it

Super Sick!!!!! Bad Bowtie!!!!!!!!💪💯 PS the guy that built that car for his dad is so likable kind of guy that I'd want to be my friend hot rod'n Buddy!!! Both of my parents have cars that are not daily drivers that are hot rods my mom is 79 El Camino SS a true SS and my dad is 77 Chevy shorty van that hauls ass! My dad's got over 20 grand into a van that he paid 20 grand for maybe someday can be on this autotopia!

Ppl love to complain about turbo lag and say superchargers tech has gone so far and it's so good now. But those same ppl need to realize that turbo technology has come alot further. Look at how oem manufacturers use turbos now vs superchargers. Turbo is the way to go now. Make alot of power the lag is barely there and top end it does not die off. Also you can control Boost with just a switch vs changing a pulley everytime you want more or less boost.

Just so you know that all the trim work you left off the front of the Chevelle are in fact the iconic parts that make the Chevelle what it is say the eye brow trim over the headlights the trim that connects the two sides that runs along the bottom of the hood to say nothing of what was left off the rear tail lights And panel ...but it's still got potential
