Great build but way too dark in there for my taste... I'd have to paint it white to reflect more natural light.

Lights, YES, but please not 5000k! I’m not sure what’s best for filming, but 3500k is much warmer and especially suited for bringing out wood.
@soundman127

@@julianugentarchitect I think 5000 would match the daylight from the windows better. It's easy to balance the video warmer. I am quite fond of the 'rough and ready' Badger style though...

Nice job, always enjoyable watching these. One observation I'd make is that for things like the chisel rack screws alone are better. Quicker, saves glue, still plenty strong enough and most importantly you can disassemble in future when you want to modify the design or turn it into something else

Looking good Matt, some simple but effective solutions there and homes found for many items ! I was concerned that the blinds may catch on some of the chisel blades, I guess you could put a piece of clear plastic behind the racks if this proves to be a problem ! Btw, I think the braided red flex of the festoon lighting looks very stylish against the dark blue !

Nice new shop to fit-out, oh boy! I real like those window shades, what are they called? My chisel wall rack is very similar to your build but I angled the top out a few degrees for access and covered the sharp edges so as not to slice myself on them. What is your India ink made of Matt? I’ve seen you use it a few times an so googled it an couldn’t really find a traditional recipe that wasn’t fabric dye. You should look at ebonising wood if you like the black ebony look. You basically use vinegar and steel wool with tea to make a sort of reactive black stain that sinks in deep.
