I understand the reasoning for building the wooden bases with a small shop, but a couple of things occurred to me. While being able to move the table saw around more easily in such a small space is important, having it move while using it could be a bit sketchy and potentially dangerous. Perhaps swapping out the front casters for locking ones might be a good idea. Also, the bandsaw appears to be a bit top heavy, and you might have to exchange the shelves for sandbags or something else heavy to make it more stable. I'm not trying to be critical, but stable power tools are normally safer than unstable ones. Thanks for sharing.

I also find the OEM folding tool stands frustrating to work with in confined spaces. I have used double locking swivel casters for mobile bases/benches I have built. 1. Wheels lock and don’t spin 2. Swivels lock and don’t spin.

I'm just finishing off paneling the inside of my shed to be workshop, so I need to start doing some of this sort of thing soon. It's easy to look at all these American woodworking channels and really extravagant benches/tables etc and get a bit overwhelmed with the complexaty, so some UK perspective with somthing simpler is nice.

I can see how you stopped the table saw from moving during a cut but what did you do for the bandsaw?

That heavy bandsaw looks to be a little top heavy? Maybe a good weight on the underside of the new base would help keep it stable. I had a similar caster layout for my table saw and since building a wider base it's been much better. Really enjoying how the space is developing.

You are quite the expert on making the most of a small woodshop, Matt! I remember when you made all kinds of adjusments in the old woodshop, that was such a cozy little space, but you were able to make great projects there! I'm sure this shop will turn out just as efficient as your older ones! (BTW: don't know what caused it, but some shot in this video were a bit wobbly...🤢😉 maybe you could look into that?)

Good stuff! Did very similar with my evolution table saw ,using a 4x2 cls framework.. I hated the stand for it as it was so awkward leading to it being condemned to stay in the corner like a naughty child! Now it wheels around the shed with so much ease . Keep going with the great videos. Thank you.

Looks Great, with the space you have maximizing the storage seems like a good idea. When you cut the wood outside i was thinking it might be handy if you built yourself some sawhorses from pressure treated wood so you can set up a quick work station for cutting sheets of wood. I have done similar where i put a few 2x4 pieces across the sawhorses i have to make an easy support. Just a thought!

Hi Matt, nice mobile units. Just a thought or idea, fix a double socket to both units, your saw plugged in one and a spare for, dust extraction or drill or any thing. The idea came to me while I was watching the video. Regards.Shaun P.S keep up the good work mate.

Does the table saw stand lock in place at all? I'd be a little worried about safety, if not. Like, in kick back - the saw itself would maybe move.

Got to say the weight from that bandsaw on that mdf stand is worrying, also evreytime you walk on the floor or tighten a screw the camera wobbles.

I think if you look back at the base video, everything on the base was 600 centres at best, probably needed to be 400 centres. It will be interesting to see how the MDF cabinet holds up with that bandsaw!

Allow me to predict that within a couple of years you are going to REALLY want a bigger shop. Two to six times bigger shop. And with that will come the inevitable, "But honey, we need a bigger house so I can built you a much bigger closet...for your shoes! Yeah, that's it, it's all about your shoes!" Trust me. I...KNOW! :)

Yep, You've had a load of comments about locking casters.. Tick.. Top heavy bandsaw, tick.. My question is, why did you not build the new workshop a little bigger, at least a little taller?. You appear to have remade your small workshop, again.... Oh, and MDF for cabinets.. Yuck.. I bet as it's in a shed, they'll go soggy in quick time without treating the edges....... Loving what you do though. Don't take any of this as criticism.......
