It's always great experience cooking and learning from our parents. Had thought of broiling balangee thanks sharing a new and less messy option of roasting balangee, will definitely give a go. Thanks for share your family time with us . Enjoy a that delicious guyanese comfort food🇬🇾🇺🇲

Wow! We got 2 lbs for $1.00 here at Presidente. supermarket in Miami this wknd , it was nice bigan. I made choka , roasted in my coalpot . tasted good. Ate some with sada roti this morning. Nice video Azim. Nice to see you helping your mom. Great son

please tell your mother thanks because this is the best and easiest way to make it. love that there is no oil added. and i can just broil it and wait, instead of directly on the fire. also, in cooking vids can you say the english words for the vegetables/fruits. i know it but others may not. thanks again !!!

Very nice bigan Choka...I roast mines on the outside stove but when lazy I do in the microwave lol...and I I chunkkay with hot oil in the end ....I absolutely love bigan Choka with Sada roti too

Love your video. The only improvement needed is how you say (and write) choka. It is NOT 'choka'; it is 'chokHa'. There is a heavy 'H' needed, as in Chok-Ha. (I am married to an Indian national; I lived in India for several years, so I know the pronunciation. Speaking of pronunciation, I love your accent! 😀

sure sure and we should collect firewood and cook it outside in a pit and put the eggplant straight on it. i don't even think indians in india do that today hehe. there are other ways to do things. i'm glad i saw his mom do it this way. quick and ez pz. others said to poke holes in the eggplant; however, it doesn't matter. it tastes just as good with one cut per eggplant. azim's mom is correct.
