Tim, thanks for this video, I was in Viet Nam from Sept 1968 to Sept 1969 as a crew chief on the CH-47. I later crashed in one while flying rescue missions for an earthquake in Peru in July 1969. I later retired from the Army in March 1970. This brought back a lot of memories both good and bad. I then returned to work as a civilian for the Airforce. I have then lived in 5 countries on assignment with the Airforce and am now married to a Filipina. I really like your channel keep it up.

It was an Honour to be on the ground of one of the most intense battles. Having seen the terrain and the elements on this trip, it really puts history in perspective for me. My sincere gratitude to those who went before me in uniform.

It actually makes me very emotional to watch this. My father was an Army Ranger in the Vietnam War and he suffers greatly with ptsd. He wanted to be there, he was one of the few that volunteered. Now he suffers from dementia from the ptsd. Thank you for sharing this with us Tim.

I just recently lost my dad to complications of Agent Orange exposure. He was stationed in Chu Lai in the 116th AHC. He was a Huey door gunner. Before he passed, he was telling me I should do what I can do visit Vietnam. It does look beautiful and welcoming. Maybe we can one day. He called the Chinooks "shit hooks" as well. It made me laugh when you said that. I'm glad I stumbled upon your channel via Bald.

As a U.S. Navy S.E.R.E. instructor and working with a man who was a POW in the Hanoi Hilton for 3.5 years when I went to the Hanoi Hilton and walked inside it gave me chills know my good friend spent 3.5 years there getting beaten and punished 24/7 and to think about all the other men he told me about . Then broke his elbow and today he still can't use that arm . I learned a lot there. As my 3 years as an instructor I meet a couple POWs to hear what they went through was Amazing and so sad .

In 1969 I spent several nights in the Transit Barracks at MCAS El Toro , I was with Guys just returned from Vietnam , I did not realize it at the Time but these Guys just a Year older then Me were Heros , veterans of Hue and Khe Sahn they had seen some s--it and were here telling me about it , one Guy was telling me that in His Squad He and His Squad Leader were the only Infantry Marines left , the rest had been pulled from the Service units and became infantry these guys were just as much Heros as those that Raised the Flag at Iwo Jima

Pho!!! Now I'm hungry for it. Great weather for it. It looks the same here today and over the last week. Thanks Tim lol. I'm in NE Oklahoma, where in the heck am I going to find a big bowl of beef noodle Pho? At the local Vietnamese place of course lol. Biting into the chicken head had me ROLLING. I can't eat something that's looking back at me, unless it's for survival purposes. We are sure funny about our food in the states. Thank you for another wonderful video. My uncle was an MP there, during the war. My college professor as well. He wrote a book called "Redleg". Anyway, I'm babbling. Thank You!!!

I graduated from Marine Corps Boot camp (platoon 1079, B co. 1st RTBN) in 1984. Two of my drill instructors were at Khe San in '68. Years later as 1LT with Texas Army National Guard in Iraq, our oldest NCO in the battalion was part of the relief column from 1st CAV fighting up a road from the south leading into Khe San.

Powerful & touching video visiting Khe Sanh! This will bring back many memories to those that served there. Looks horrible driving the bikes in the rain storm. I saw you squeezing the water out of your shoes once you got out of the rain. Interesting looking soup. Good curb side service at the hotel. Nice hotel room with a decent Western toilet. Th jacuzzi was a nice treat after that long trip in the rain on the bike.

That's a good piece of history you got. My dad was Army artillery during the Vietnam War. My best friend lost his dad there. SSG Aleki Jeremia.

This trip has been amazing a lot of history. A lot of amazing people, the Vietnam people, are so inviting and friendly seeing where part of my family fought is remarkable. Thanks, Tim
