BambuLab has created beasts. The BambuLab X1 Carbon Combo (with AMS) & the new P1P.
But with the shop stock problems, we need alternatives.
With this hack / cheat you are able to use whatever plate you like and use it as "official" PEI sheet.
Download the label from my website (link a little bit down in the description), print it on your laser/inkjet, clue it on your sheet and you are good to go!
This is the beginning of a series . so please subscribe und press the bell.

No false detections after the video and did about 20 prints the moment the video went live. So the percentace is more 99% now. Happy printing and 3D printing All the best Sandor - DM4DS

I also needed extras and I love having spares because I’m very impatient lol, so when I pull out a fresh print I let it cool down so it self releases but I can’t wait to start the next print lol! I insert another sheet and get going again. I just bought the new G10 plate for Bambu in WHITE, it’s a little pricey but claims you don’t need glue stick for any Filament especially PETG, and it’s a smooth matte finish like the smooth PEI

I am positive that this issue along with a few others will be sorted with future firmware updates These units are still so new that we the consumers are the research and development team

Not sure if someone mentioned it, but wham bam plate already did that some months ago. They give you a sticker that do the same job. But thanks for this. The option to buy a whatever plate is great.

Thanks for a great hack. Did you ever get to use G10? I use FR4 (technically the same material) and love it and wonder if I can use it on this machine as well, adding the barcode obviously.

@marksneyd1262 - I used G10 multiple times - it´s easy to get here in germany. I also love Pertinax, but you have to sand it . Happy printing Sandor - DM4DS

Hi. X1 carbon owner. I could not figure out why my printer wasn’t working. The scanner saved my ass I don’t even have the cool plate on it. Finally looked at it and realized I could have been screwed by printing on the heated bed!!

The feature itself is great! I love it while with the feature you can start prints remote and sure that the right plate is in the printer. Great it saved you. All the best, Sandor - DM4DS

Can you use PLA to print the QR code?

No, you should use a inkjet or laser printer, print it on paper, cut it and glue it onto the PEI/PEO.... It is so small and fiddely, that you can not print the details in PLA...also it would be maybe too high so the head would bump into it during trying to read it. All the best Sandor - DM4DS

i have the same aliexpress bed and don't have that issue. no qr code on mine. i do receive a warning message, something about it not being able to properly "scan", but it does not stop the print for me. i am running the original firmware it shipped with, so i wonder when i finally update if i will have the same issue.

Interesting! Can you tell us on which firmware version you are? I'm on the newest and it stops everytime without the QR code. Thanks Sandor - DM4DS

@@DM4DS On my Bambu studio, under Device -> Print Options {near top right) I have Deselected "Enable Detection of Buildplate Position. I think that makes it so it won't scan the build plate

I'm not using there filament. It is not necessary, it never was.

@Daeamon most time I´m shopping local. we have a small company producing filament on big spools for commercial usage, but the beginning of each run or if they are testing new stuff, they do on "small" spools like we use them. Everything else I´m mostly looking on ebay. The spools with the checkered side, I never had bad quality. Happy printing - Sandor

@@Daeamon so far it printed every 3rd party filament, also in the AMS. You specify it and go. The percentage read out does not work but if you enable "resume print with same filament" it detects filament run out and loads the next "same" filament. I only printed the BambuLab filament which came with the printer, everything else was cheap, whatever filament. Hope this info helps you. You don't have to buy BambuLab filament! Best wishes Sandor

Well, I suggest you just relax a little. Demand is very high at the moment. Not only for spare parts and consumables but the printers also aren't in stock but have to be preordered. Due to this high demand is very unlikely that Bambu Labs is going out of business in the forseeable future. They're rather making a fortune. TBH people with your attitude are the reason why things are constantly out of stock: You're hoarding things that you don't need (yet). Reminds me of people hoarding toilet paper in the beginning of 2020. Please stop hoarding and then complaining that things are sold out. Not just you but everybody. Buy a replacement belt if the old one is broken. If you already have a PEI sheet in good condition you don't need a second one.

I don't like waiting if something breaks and hope it is then on stock, and I only hoard this that will break. If it's ok for you to have a 1.5k€ printer and not able to print for months, then it's your choice. Not for me. But thanks for your comment, I'm fine with your statement. @@DM4DS not true. ordered X1C with AMS, received 7 days later. Ordered Texture plate and hot plate and spare parts, received 3 days later. Ordered Filament, 3 days later, at my door step. Many common items are sold out, yes, however, get your ass up early each day and take a look at the site. its in stock for couple hours. the demand for this superb printer is quite high! love this printer. btw i would never advertise buying china... smh.
