Saiki, the vocalist, is elegant in everyday life. I noticed that Japanese rock girls, in general, are very elegant too.

At 5:16 - MISA, the bassist, Kanami the lead guitarist and composer, and Miku the rhythm guitarist and founder of the band, are playing Hengao - "strange faces" - with Akane the drummer, which is making funny faces to try and put someone off. Akane, of course, laughs along while not missing a beat. It shows the ladies' confidence in each others' abilities that they can fool around like this while all of them slam out note-perfect Rock at full tilt. At 8:06 - MISA the bassist is holding her plectrum in her curled finger so she can produce it and switch from slapping to picking in half a nanosecond - skills! At 11:42 - A brief glimpse of Kanami laying down one sweet rolling chord patterns - pure class. THE best live Rock band on Earth. And beyond.

I always like to let reactors know that Domination was the 22nd of a 23 song set. So, they had that kind of energy two hours into the show. One of the reasons I am looking forward to seeing them live this fall. (shibuya was a 2000 seat venue in this video)

Japanese girls are brought up very strictly and modest, well mannered and polite. Kanami, lead guitar and composer, off stage is shy, demur and slightly vague. On stage she is a monster. These musicians have talent off the scale but also have a great sense of fun. When they gather around the drummer they all pull faces to try and put her off. So far she has resisted. At every concert there are a variety of jokes between each other without any break in the beat, they are that good. A wonderful band.

I am so happy that America is embracing Bandmaid. I was excited to see them sell out their U. S. tour and they had to add extra shows. It is just great to see. I think there is a big pocket of music fans here who have been waiting for this kind of hard rock / metal sound. So I think bands like Lovebites, Bandmaid , and Nemophilia can be really big here once they get to tour here snd get more exposure here.

Thank you for reacting to the Band-Maid again. In Japan, there is a heavy metal instrumental band called “Asterism”, which consists of three people: guitar, bass, and drums. They are all very young, about 20 years old, but they are a surprisingly talented band and the guitar is a girl. Recently, they have invited a vocalist as a guest on a cover song, and I remember seeing an article that seems to be thinking about adding vocals to the band. I would love to see you join this band and aim for the world.😄

Great reaction! This is easily my favorite live performance from them. Oh, and it’s very normal for women and girls in Japan to be covered up on top, but you’ll sometimes see them in very short shorts or skirts. (I did my best to follow that dress code while I lived there, but it gets so hot and humid in the summer that I had to break out with spaghetti strap shirts a few times.)

As someone that lives in Japan I can certainly 100% confirm that Japanese women are the masters of dressing classy, modestly, while sexy at the same time. They have perfected that balancing act. I honestly don't even know how they do it.

Miku is singing also complete songs, for example Rock in me orTime. In the beginning the girls called it "Pee" time for Saiki, but in fact you are correct. The songs of Miku, the instrumentals and the Magic time of Miku gives Saiki the time to recreate her voice. Well done from the maids.

the fans have taught me the back story, that Miku founded this band coming from an Idol band where she was just a singer and she decided that NO, if this band is going to amount to anything I have to NOT be the singer, so Kanami taught her guitar and she stepped back into the role of FACE of band for interviews etc but not the oead vocalist. I think she has done very well AND has her side project Cluppo to let her JPop person out.

I would gladly dress in drag to be a member of your girl band. That is how much I like you. Don't tell anyone, they'll all want some and I can't do everything for everyone.

The entire tour is Sold-Out and Chicago was added. Think about it, 5 Japanese women who sing in Japanese are Sold-Out in America in 12 cities!! As to musicians, checkout the requirements for auditioning to be the bass player for Lovebites. As to modesty you obviously have never watched any Japanese cosplay videos. Your comment about the modest dressing of Japanese women bands I think is quite generally true. They might show a little leg but tend to be covered up on top. That is one of the notable aspects of Babymetal's costumes; as they moved from being girls to young women their clothes got more modest. But this is Japan, where there is band for every taste and genre, so there are exceptions. Ena Fujita is a guitarist with 2 albums (one called Bikini Riot) and 4 EPs who also works as a "gravure" model and sometimes plays guitar in just a bikini. Band-Maid's agency, Platinum Passport, has a sexy themed idol group Predia. Predia has real musicians in it, there was a short-lived acoustic group Mochi to Cheese (modestly dressed) with Kanami and Akane of Band-Maid with 3 members of Predia, two vocalists and a keyboardist. But none of these groups are as explicit as some Western acts, more like old-fashion pin-ups.

I've wondered if the reason Saiki (I had to delete Sai-chan) rarely smiles is because she's deep in character or perhaps she's insecure about her teeth. She has unusual canines, like they're higher in her mouth. I don't know.

I wouldn't go so far to say that metal has really declined. Sure these bands don't chart as well as they did in the 80's and 90's, but the scenes are rebounding from the pandemic pretty well. Plus there are LOADS of female metal fans and players. I'm surprised that New York is lacking in any kind of musicians.

I feel kinda sorry for you. I mean, that I assume that you only listen to BAND-MAID during your reaction videos. You're going to be at a disadvantage, when you get to the concert. You aren't going to know what, or when, to yell your part.

Their outfit now is different that in the beginnin. In their first videos all use very teen "idol" clothes. Perverts are a sizeable market, especially in heterosexual men from conservative cultures (and all cultures have conservative heterosexual men, but Japan it's in a league of it's own compared with other rich democratic countries). The Maid Cafes where Miku (rhythmic guitar and founder of BM) used to work and draw the idea of a band dressed like maids are an example. I think Misa (bass) was the first to use the long black dress style seeing today, almost immediately and later the rest follow, maybe from 2019 on their outfit it's the today one.). American interest in rock and metal....as well as music education/instrument playing has gone down the shitter 🚽 for the last two decades. Especially the youth. All they listen to is hip hop (and modern hip hop is mostly terrible inmho), and garbage like Kpoop. General music tastes have also clearly declined drastically in the US. There is almost not a single American band from the last 20 years I listen to. Not that the US has produced much of note in the last 20 years. I listen almost exclusively to Japanese and European stuff now.
