Misa kicks so much ass

I'd argue this is one of the few bands I've seen where every member gets about equal praise. If anything I feel like Saiki kind of gets forgotten sometimes about by all the people losing their mind over the rhythm section.

She has a killer tone. Reminds me a bit of Duff's in the early 90s with GNR. It has a great roundness to it with both punch and clarity. And when she takes a solo, it's so well articulated.

(BTW, don't assume we know what we know about the others either; "Miku Kobato" is a stage name.) The only one who doesn't use a click track for timing. She feels Akane's drumbeats directly through her feet instead. The one who takes a shot for her nerves before playing a concert (has always had stage fright though it is getting better). And never lets it affect her timing badly. No one else handles it as well; there is a clip of Saiki flatting notes all over that worried me until I was told she had hit Misa's stash. Saiki sloppy was incomprehensible, Saiki drunk was cute as hell. Being offside while others are spotlighted, she is the lurking barefoot (stocking feet actually) Ninja in shadows, in black... The one who had practiced until she had bleeding blisters on her fingers and THEN came the call that Hey, we've got studio time... and went in and did her parts perfectly anyway... She really IS that badass. The one who most often starts the round of risque jokes that gets them all laughing and relaxed before heading onstage, according to Saiki. The one who speaks least but fans yell her name the most.

You could put some headphones on your friend and tell them about this Japanese band with a cool female vocalist. Let them hear it once but not see it. THEN play it a second time while you let them see it's an all female band. Could be fun :)

World class! I would love it but it is a Japanese group. I love them. But even with the song 'Dragon Cry' that they sing entirely in English does not break through in America. Also, rock is less popular these days.

This is their pure energy. If you don't understand what they're saying that will let you know through their instruments. I doubt you could handle their words LOL. I'm almost seventy years old. These girls bring back memories of the 70s. When you figure out what they're saying you will really understand! They are a movement. a force to be reckoned with. Definitely on my bucket list

If you think you're addicted now, whatever you do, don't go see them live, you'll never get them out of your system! These Girls are beyond amazing. I flew across the country to see them in LA. Totally worth it. I was minorly worried that maybe they wouldn't be as good live as their CDs and videos are. What was I worried about!? Incredible! I have not been this excited about a band in at least 20 years.

Charles Coleman I’m from Australia so I can only hope and pray they somehow or someway end up in my country. But the music scene here doesn’t really have that great of promoting so sometimes it’s difficult to get my favourite international bands in the country. But at this rate maybe I’ll fly to Japan to check them out, ive been playing them non stop all week and don’t think it’s going to stop any time soon!

@@jessbell8299 Have faith, Jess. Two years ago (2017), they played one date in the US. the next year, two dates, LA and San Fran. Last year it was five dates. 2 in NYC, one in Dallas and two in LA. Their popularity is spreading and I hope and believe they will continue to add tour dates. I do hope they pay you guys in Australia a few visits. The country that gave us AC/DC deserves it! Hey, good luck with those wild fires, too! We're keeping you guys in our prayers.

I think the bulk of their fanbase is made of us old farts! And I'm sure they're not too happy about that. Until they learn it's not because we're dirty old men. We'd be BabyMetal fans if that were the case. It's that we know a PHENOMENON when we see one - a real band of DESTINY - because we've seen them ALL! We know when rock history is being made - because we've LIVED through it all! To hook us old guys is to get an INVALUABLE endorsement. The only other band I'd endorse like that right now is Cage the Elephant - and Band Maid blows them away.

I am a BabyMetal fan as well. Mainly because, I like the backing band. The mix of the genres is interesting, and yes I confess, the girls are cute and adroable but, they can sing, dance and they put on a good show. I enjoy both bands, but yes I like Band Maid more. Thanks, the Cage the Elephant suggestion I will look into them. Also Real quick. With bands like Band Maid, Babymetal, Black Stone Cherry, Ghost, Halestorm etc, etc. I find out real fast, how many of my peers that listen Rock and Metal, are out of touch with what's new, or is that just me? O.o Actually, I find they are out of touch, with any new material , tour dates and etc, etc. with the older bands as well. The number of surprised looks I got from my age group, when I told them I went to see Ace Frehley and UFO was quite high. :D

+Pu Ma Yeah - I think the actual concert goers are guys in their 30s. I'd be ashamed to go to one of their concerts at my age. The 30-somethings hear the GnR they grew up with. We old farts hear an update of the whole history of rock! As for their stage presence - I think it's odd. Put any other girl group in front of an all-male audience and they'd start teasing and tantalizing the men - having fun. These girls just play. They're so focused on just the music - they may as well be playing to a wall. And Kanami even gets embarrassed by all the male adulation! Makes me wonder if they like men at all ... if you know what I mean. o_O

Has it been a year already? I think I discovered them about 11 months ago. I sincerly hope that Japan gets their act together with vaccinating, so that they can come to Europe already! I need to see them live!

Nowadays I have the opposite problem. Whenever I run into a new song that I really like I'm afraid to check out more from the band because if they end up being as consistently good as BAND-MAID, I don't know if I'll be able to handle it.
