For the people wondering what kind of fish is used in this video, it’s called a ripsaw catfish, scientific name Oxydoras niger. Originally from the Amazon Basin, it has in recent years been stocked in many of Thailand’s fishing lakes and ponds. Although it looks fearsome, it eats only vegetable matter, mollusks and small invertebrates.

Sieht einfach nur lecker aus. Leider gelingt es mir nur selten bis nie, herauszufinden bzw. zu erkennen, was das alles für Zutaten sind, die verwendet werden, fängt bei dem Fisch schon an. Aber einfach klasse und schön anzusehen, wie das gemacht wurde. Und ich denke, für einen "europäischen Magen" wahrscheinlich kaum auszuhalten und brüllend scharf. Ich hab selber noch nie thailändisch gegessen, auch nicht in abgemilderter, "deutscher Variante", wie ich es von einem beispielsweise indischen Restaurant, aber auch nur vom Hörensagen her, kenne. Aber es reizt mich sehr, sowas mal zu probieren.

finally! a brand new T.T. vid is finally here! don't get me wrong now, i really like the dish ,but that fish really gives me the creeps! morbidly reminds me of those Sucker Mouth Cat Fish you always see in home Aquariums with their mouths sticking to the glass pane! River bottom feeders like this Cat Fish are usually scavengers , so i'd think twice before ordering this babe for dinner!
