Bank Fishing With An Old School Setup

I was able to get out last week to do a little bank fishing with my old school Zebco 33 and some worms. A combo I think lots of people learned to fish on and some still do. The fishing turned out to not be so great but the day could not have been any better weather-wise. Hopefully, we can get a handle on the COVID stuff so we all can get back to enjoying the great outdoors.

Enjoying your fishing videos. The small hole in the front cover of that Zebco reel, it's a drain hole and should always be seated at the bottom or 6PM position. It allows string water to quickly drain out of the reel. Tight lines my friend.

Zebco 33 was my dads go to reel ! He swore that more fish were caught on a zebco than any other combo.

Would have to agree with your dad on both accounts. It’s just around good set up for anybody, to many people thing it has to be fancy and the latest and greatest to catch fish these days sometimes simple is best. Thanks for watching and the comment

1989 rhino tough zebco your spinner cover was on wrong the hole needs to be facing to the bottom of the reel i got a few of these 33 made in American and there great reels

I recognize the first spot and last spot! I caught a 2lb bass at the first spot, later in the afternoon probably on the same day you were there. Would be interested to know where the spot is that fills up with lily pads in a couple weeks!

Dude, are you kidding me, a 2 pounder! Guess I didn’t give it enough time, I was short on time so I had to keep moving. Pierce Creek Landing on Lake Conway is the spot with the pads, if you are looking at the lake it’s to the right, short paddle in a Kayak. Thanks for watching and the comment

Is there a reason to have the line twisted around the rod just in front of the reel?

No, not at all I was in such a hurry to fish that I didn’t pay attention when I rigged it up. I think I finally noticed it at my last spot. I saw it on the video right away when I got home. Thanks for watching and the comment.
