Great video bro, good point about the antenna too. I have the UV-5RE, the GT-3 and the GT-3TP (8 watt version). I found that running the battery pack with normal AA batteries didn't work because they have more voltage than rechargeable batteries and over power the radio but this can be over come by removing one of the batteries and adding a dummy battery in there, unless of course you are running rechargeable batteries. Great radios for sure though, thanks for the video buddy :)

Hi mate! Definitely worth having. They're fun to play with and a decent prep if you get the AA battery pack. In urban areas you'll only get a mile or so's reception but if you know others and pre arrange frequencies to be used in a power outage, it could be really useful. Certainly worth the £28 (total delivered cost for 1 handset with Nagoya antenna and AA battery pack. ATB mate. Andy

The cheapest antenna is not always the best.....unfortunately your "Nagoya" is a fake (wrong shape, wrong colour printing, wrong packaging). Did it work well?

Yea it works brilliantly. I've never heard of Nagoya before so wasn't aware that they would bother copying an cheap iten that's an unknown brand? Doesn't seem to make sense. Regardless I'm happy with it. Plus this video is very old. Possibly changed shape?
