His geography, despite the hours he spends with this game, doesn't seem to improve at all. In the ProMods 1.9 video, he thought Estonia was Latvia if I'm not mistaken.

Well, yes and no. My PC is a 6 years old i7 930 @ 2.8Ghz w/ a Radeon HD5800 and it hovers around 25-30fps in the unoptimised version of Barcelona with occasional dips to 18-20fps. I think there is room for improvement through optimisation as this sort of stuff is happening in areas where there really isn't that much going on (and where it's a matter of stopping the game from rendering things which aren't visible to the player) and, in earlier builds, I was having the same sort of issues in Narbonne and Perpignan, which, as you can see in the video, are totally fine now. On top of that, this is not a racing game, which requires really crisp feedback. Ok, so it is a bit annoying when you can actually see the framerate, certainly when using a Track-IR, but it's by no means unplayable, even in its current state. The ProMods devs are really, really good and I trust they will try their hardest to get performance up to acceptable levels, even for those of us with systems behind the curve, but there are some spots on top of the motorway interchangers (which Squirrel didn't show because of the route the GPS took) where one can literally see for miles, so keeping the framerate pegged at 60fps is unlikely to be a reality for us, unfortunately.

Having driven to Quaesada in Spain myself from the UK having watched this video I am mega impressed that promods have got the AP-7 absolutely spot on right down to the positioning of the trees on the side of the road. If you have to go further down the AP-7 later on Paul it has a few tolls on it but not as many as the southern French roads. Deffo going to be putting this on my game tonight thanks for sharing.

Great vid, Paul. I used to drive the 3 series myself. Can't say for sure when the cruise control was introduced, although the model itself is from 1987. I distinctly recall driving 143's with cruise control from '96 and onward, although I can't say which year they were built. There was a 1992 Volvo F12 I drove with some regularity, and it had cruise control.

Squirrel surprisingly most technology in cars was in trucks long before. Like cruse control. We have a W reg Scania 113 that we have had from knew. It came with cruse control as standard, it still works as a spare wagon today and has done 2 million miles. And pulls so much better than the modern Euro 6 trucks pumped with emission controls. Crazy world we live in Squirrel, crazy world

I hope the modeler of Barcelona, (a beautiful effort), notices the railway catenary support in the middle of the track next to the RR container terminal. You see such ambitious and well executed sims, and then a glaring mistake like that, and I wish I could jump into the video and fix it, so it won't detract from the whole. Nice video.

I've been restore an old moped to use i was about 14 years old when I started the project. It took me two and a half years to take it apart restore it and putting it back together again just the engine it self took two and a half years every little detail was original. All done In my spare time. But time ran out of my hands so I unfortunately I had to sell it to a collector and I miss the days of the restoration in the summer being able to work on it outside on the driveway and the neighbours reactions and comments oh my life. I've never seen so many smiles at their faces since.

I did my HGV training in an S reg Scania (late 90s reg?) and it had cruise control. It was a basic bottom of the range sort of unit with the old style broom handle style gear shifter with the range switch that looked like your living room light switch. I think cruise control was standard on trucks long before it was common on cars and vans.

i know that Portugal has got toll roads, which are pretty much all of the motorways, but unlike France (i dont know about Spain) but they aren't booths. it's just basically like speed cameras and they read your license plate, and as you pass then you'll get charged a small fee (possibly 30 cents up to about 1 euro). i know all this because even though I'm English, i have travelled to Portugal quite often.

I wouldn't say that you should feel all that bad. Placing assets is fairly easy once you get into the grove. there were some issues though that were kind of glaring, but could be chocked up to the kids age, like the car park. There was to much of a random pattern going on. you could see the same colored vans and cars repeated fairly often. And the one thing to really think about is this kid is only 13. So they probably have a bit more free time than you do if your going to school and working. *clearly i hate children*
